Hiring Freeze - ERR with FOL

I have my FOL (since December) and my release date is in April (Picked up under old system before this new MOU). Any one have any insight how the freeze will affect me if at all? NATCA is "looking into it" but it is a 2000+ mile move so the process has long started for me.

Thanks

I was picked up off an NCEPT panel and have a signed FOL with release date as well. I am freaking out about this.

The 2nd bullet point is encouraging for us. But the 4th one has me concerned. Is somebody actually going to sit and decide whether our transfer is still approved. I would imagine NATCA would raise hell if somebody tried and pull that off. The second bullet point is essentially the basis of the entire MOU, to staff needy facilities. This entire order is so vague.

Same here. I talked to the region rep and he said they should have clarification today or tomorrow. I got another sheet with more info (left it at work but will post tomorrow) but still doesn't really answer our questions.

This is been such a drawn out process of finally getting a date to where I want to be. It would suck to have it delayed or worse because of this garbage. I don't understand how transfers are part of this supposed hiring freeze. My rep today seemed fairly confident it was all going to work out fwiw.

Flow chart

Code:
Will the hiring freeze affect me?
                              <-----Are you being hired?------>
            <-----YES                                               NO----->
It will affect you! It won't affect you!

It was explained to me that when you ERR you are essentially being hired by your new facility, which is why you get a TOL, have to do security, medical, etc and then an FOL with an effective start date, just as a new hire would. I was also shown an internal email from AHR today that "AHR has halted the processing of ALL activity to include internal and external hires UFN".

Nah I get it. Its the agencies being overly cautious in my ignorant opinion. Air Force sent a similar email regarding DoD civilians; AFPC in an abundance of caution has put a temporary halt on personal actions, but continue to process them as normal.

No one really knows anything right now. I know it sucks trying to plan ahead for it, hopefully something will come out soon clarifying intentions. I don't think much will come out until the new secretary of transportation is confirmed - which she passed the senate committee today, just waiting for full senate vote I think

What's your release date? I imagine no matter what we will know in a month as soon as someone with a late February release date hears their fate. Mine is June, so I'm waiting to see what happens to other people....

Later in the fall. I just can't fathom them actually veto'ing an ERR in the name of this order, I just can't.

I've already started planning and made arrangements based on the firm offer and date ....and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I've had an FOL since last fall for an April release date.
New position is still FAA, but outside of the ATO in AcademyLand, I'm not worried about it being canceled.

What sense does it make to duplicate work and redo security etc

Because like I said when you accept a new position, you are essentially rehired and they have to verify that your medical and clearance will transfer over. If you are going to terminal from enroute, or enroute to terminal, you will have to do redo your security clearance because they are different. That means filling out the eqip thing just like you did when you were hired.

What's academy instructor pay like? Do you keep your pay if you are over?

It's the GS14 scale.
They took my current pay, converted it to the GS13 equivalent step, moved me up 2 steps.
Took that pay, converted it to the GS14 equivalent step, and if it's between steps, it's moved to the next higher one.
OKC is the RUS locality rate. GS14 range is 101k-132k.

If you're over that, I'm not sure. Might be considered a promotion so you could keep your current pay.

"All,

We have just been notified that AHR is sending notice to ALL the Regions making sure they are aware internal transfers (ERR) are NOT on hold and are NOT impacted by hiring freeze.
It will likely take a couple of days for the information to filter down to the HR specialists and to any BUE's that may have been notified that an internal transfer was put on hold.
Let me know if you have any questions.

XXXXXXXXXXXX

There is the clarification people were waiting for.

I sent them my flow chart to help them figure it out :rolleyes:

Got this same email today, the guy from our region literally titled the email,"Freeze on Internal Transfers."
With the memorandum stating "In carrying out this memorandum, I ask that you seek efficient use of existing personnel and funds to improve public services and the delivery of these services. Accordingly, this memorandum does not prohibit making reallocations to meet the highest priority needs and to ensure that essential services are not interrupted and national security is not affected."
I never thought ERRs would be effected, but certainly nice to get a firm confirmation.
