It's Over (Finally)

You really think that’s a bargaining point ? “ I’ll wear business casual, so pay us more?”
What is your bargaining point? I was just after the white book thankfully. But when people talk about it they say 2 things, our pay was short and we had to wear ties to work. I give a fuck about only 1 of those 2 things.

They don't care about the fucking dress code. That was just Bush being an asshat. They care about your leave bidding, being able to alter your schedule at will, being able to make you work credit/comp instead of OT, being able to ignore your lunch break, being able to force you off on holidaysetc. Pretty much everything that costs them money and their ability to independently manage.

And that's not even getting into the basic employment rights shit like TRBs, return rights, nest, hardships, etc.

You guys really are summer children and don't realize it.

Those things usually come together. The agency 1000% doesn’t want to pay us more money. If the union loses bargaining power because of trump or anyone else for that matter. It only gets harder to get a raise

These things are all just assumed that’s how the agency does things. And it’ll always be that way. Lots of slate book hired that just don’t understand what’s at stake sometimes

The older people that talk about this stuff lived through different times. They are also the ones set up in life and can deal with all the adversary that comes along with it. I’m not sure a lot of people understand what could happen to things we just take for granted

I very truly would give up all of these things if I got compensated fairly. I am telling you the work life balance we try to promote I think is just a distraction, I’m there 48 hours a week at minimum and the only thing that would make me hate it less is more money. I think most people just don’t care about the distractions either after every other sector getting raises. Pay me a pilots wage and I’ll do whatever you ask for 8 hours. Work is just work to me. I’ve had a terrible schedule for 15 years I don’t think you could make it worse or affect me by making me stop doing credit hours, just pay me more.

As someone who only works 40 hours a week I can say that 40 hours a week is much better

What makes it different then? Really? This is just a union scare tactic once again.
Last time Republicans didn't actually think Trump was going to win, and weren't prepared to do anything. They even controlled both houses for a while and were mostly useless. Now they've had both time to cook up a bunch of terrible ideas and a long list of people to appoint who will mindlessly execute those terrible ideas.
