It’s been reported he’s on paid admin leave indefinitely for now.
I can't even get admin leave around a holiday but this dude almost lands a 76 on a southwest and gets months of free admin time. Wtf.

I don't know if this was a joke as in, multiple TEB people have screwed up or not.
But for those that don't know the story, back in 2009 a TEB controller was on his phone doing non work related things and was found partially responsible for the deaths of 9 people when a helicopter and PA-32 collided in the Hudson River Corridor. This article goes into some detail. It names and shames, he's supposedly working at PHF.

Oh man, there’s some gems in there. On at least two occasions he’s unable to describe how to apply separation rules. He can’t recall the local cutoff points for arrival versus departures, and he can’t describe how he actually determines if 2 increasing to 3 exists. But do we have a legal obligation to answer have you ever had an alcohol before? How were you feeling?
There isn't anyone there to say it's irrelevant or question why.
This whole 'safety only' investigation is now in public domain. Imagine if something had happened, he'd be sued into oblivion with no doubt.
Which circles me back around-do we have any sort of coaching or contractual obligations in these questions?
