I knew a broke ass dude that went upside down to get a hummer H3 when he made $12 an hour lol. Needless to say that got repo’d.
lol yeah man people from every class of society have been living beyond their means to get some pussy since the beginning of the time

what would be practical is a mandatory "how to adult" class in high school like how credit scores and taxes and interest etc works

Why did Bobbysue have 2 kids and decide afterwards that she didnt have skills that didnt include working the mid shift at Waffle House?
Lmao assuming life circumstances don't fuck people sometimes.

I'm not over here preaching automatic equality of outcomes for everyone regardless of their output, just a modern, rich society like ours should make sure people don't fall thru the cracks, so don't turn this around like I'm over here spouting some communist utopia bullshit lol.

Didn't say free housing, said affordable, saying there is no solution is just disingenuous , you don't want the solution
I’m just saying that there are options. I’m not saying you have to move but realize that it costs a lot more to live in some places. I’ve seen plenty of programs to help with housing.

At my first facility when apartment hunting there was a crazy high occupancy rate. The only thing available to me was a really expensive place while the nicer and newer apartments saved for section 8 housing had lots of vacancies, much cheaper rent, and turned me away. I ended up paying almost double for a crappier place than the section 8 stuff. Walk into the section 8 apartment and they had like 10 people working. Walk into any other and it’s usually 1 maybe 2 working.

That is a pipe dream. I’ve been working as a forklift driver in a warehouse since August for some extra money to pay off student loans quicker. Let’s just say it has opened my eyes to the failures of education in the US. We had a meeting with our whole DC a month ago and we got a raise from $14 to $16.50. Some guy sitting behind me said, “Dang $16.50/hour with all the overtime we’re getting that’s gonna be like $19/hour.” I blew his mind when I told him it was $24.75. A lot of people in the workforce are close to or completely illiterate, and clearly would struggle with middle school math. Any warm body with two legs can flip burgers or sort boxes, and they’ll be paid accordingly.
There it is, “warm bodies.” These are people and the system should work for them just like it works for me no matter how stupid, illiterate, or useless you think they are. This is their world too, even though you’d liken them to animals to justify the fact that people are dying to hunger and treatable diseases in the richest nation in the world. You shouldn’t have to be a genius or get everything right to make a fucking living here.

I'm saying we should and can, do more. I know there is programs in place but I don't think it's enough. I did nothing in life to be more deserving to have my own house at 22 then someone who got fucked because of where they were born who can't live on their own

Whoa whoa if we don't have a perceived lower class for the super rich to get people to lash out against how is Jeff bezos gonna make that next 100 billion?
You should see the price for those relics... The new stuff is top notch though.

Okay, lay it out for me. Are you suggesting companies should hire people or pay people without producing anything? The fact of the matter is many people don’t have the skills or aptitude required To be valuable enough for a business to pay them a “living wage”. I didn’t liken anyone to an animal. All I meant by warm body was you can hire Someone with no work experience to fill those positions. It’s requires no talent, experience, or skills to do it.

Why not just pay a living wage? It’s one thing when the company is struggling. But when shareholders and owners are making billions. Come on man

I’m not saying everything should be free or unproductive. But there is a class of people whose work is undervalued, and for me it’s that simple. Everyone is worth more than $7 and change. And if they aren’t than this experiment is a failure and needs an overhaul that I’m too drunk and undereducated to explore.

Man it's almost like of we offered a national education program for people to get usable job skills and made sure we payed them a living wage while getting that education, and had better programs to make sure less people slipped thru the cracks we'd have less societal leeches....but that'd probably require taxing the Waltons of the country a bit more so nah fuck that, we need them to have that 14th vacation home, it'll definitely trickle down at some point, at least that's what I've been told.

But at the end of the day we still need people to work at wal mart and McDonald’s. So that’s what I don’t get about all these pick you up by the bootstraps plans.

Companies already hire disabled people and get subsidies from the government, we already decided as a country they are worth less than $2 an hour and somehow that's okay?
