New battlefield looks dope. I don't know anything about new COD aside from its ww2, and that I've been sick of warzone for over a year.

Halo has never been a favorite of mine.

Battlefield just makes a consistently better game I think..... very few BF games are not top notch, and the ones that aren't great are still really good.

I felt like BF1 and the last one (Bf5?) fell short of my expectations but both were still great. I put more hrs in BF1 than any game I've played in years.

I can't count the aggregate days of my life I lost on BF2 in college. I am shit in FPS but I owned the Battlefield Commander role with the airdrops and UAVs.

I’ve never liked a Battlefield and COD has gone downhill to where I don’t enjoy it. Guess I’ll hope halo is good.

I didn’t play BF1 much but I thought 5 was pretty good. I started playing 4 again when they announced 2042 and I was surprised at how good it looks and feels still. 8 years later.

I had been wanting a ww1 fps for a while, it doesn't really lend itself to multi-player gaming well from a realism standpoint, but ww1 has always interested me. I was a little letdown by the campaign but the MP is probably my favorite of the last 5-7 years. Only COD game that came close in that time frame was the last iteration of modern warfare, but I like the BF play style more.

Strategically, yes we lost the war, tactically though we overwhelmingly beat the taliban when we fought. Why is that? Because we had better stuff. Helos, NVGs, UAVs. All that.

I would argue our training and will to fight mattered just as much, if not more, than our technology. The ANA and the ARVN were very similar in that dependence on US technology to make up for what they lacked in skill and resolve.

So in order for the ANA to even have shot at doing the same, we had to modernize thier forces. You can't give an unmotivated group Toyota hiluxes and salty rifles and expect them to do well against extremely motivated dudes with the same. The stuff wasn't just "left behind". overwhelmingly, it was to arm and equip a fighting force that didn't show up.

I feel like you’re arguing my point here - we equipped an army with technology and they didn’t show up. Why did US taxpayers fund a multimillion dollar drone left behind that wasn’t used offensively, or at the very least scrapped so the Taliban couldn’t take possession of it? It’s poor training and chain of custody responsibility, and the person responsible for it today didn’t have to report to a superior officer/American representative for the last time before January, it was under a chain of command under Biden.

On top of that, what, do you think biden himself was making decisions on exactly what was being given to them? Nope. It was some general,, under advisement from some Raytheon contractor who wanted to sell more drones. So again, can't put that all on him.

That’s about the silliest thing I’ve ever heard you argue. Using that logic, might as well forget prosecuting Himmler, Hitler, etc., because hey, they were technically the superior officer during the Holocaust, but they didn’t actually participate.

Again, if you wanna play the blame game, blame dubya for setting the policy in the first place, and the rest that followed ALL share the same level of responsibility for the negligence we are discussing. Trying to put this all on the guy that got left holding the bag because it politically aligns with your narrow worldview is moronic.

I can’t blame Biden for the entire mess, but I can blame him for this mess of a withdrawal. I hope the public wakes up and does too.

I agree with this. BF games are usually pretty dang good. Not hyped for Cod this year but at least it’s on the Modern Warfare engine and not black ops Cold War engine. Halo looks decent. Although with halo I prefer to play user created content over the regular MP.

should be an exciting year for shooters tho.

Training sure. Will to fight.... debatable. Go tell an American teenager he has to shit in a bucket in a cave for 20 years until he gets swatted by a skyrobot he never sees for his college money he's noping the fuck out, I guarantee it.

Besides the point though, I was just pointing out the doctrine was being passed to the ANA. A large part of us military power relies on usage of technology to overwhelm our enemies. we weren't training the ANA to fight like the used to we were training them to fight like us, which requires the stuff we left there.

Because that's been the policy forever. Build and equip a modern fighting force in Afghanistan. That that failed spectacularly took longer than Joe Biden's time in officer. The flip side of that coin would have been international condemnation for promising them those tools and then taking them away at the last minute. It's a no win situation, again, no matter who is in office when it happens.

It’s poor training and chain of custody responsibility, and the person responsible for it today didn’t have to report to a superior officer/American representative for the last time before January, it was under a chain of command under Biden.
At the point when all this went down it was in the chain of command of the afghan president, who took off to Uzbekistan. Joe Biden is not the afghan president, or an afghan General.

That’s about the silliest thing I’ve ever heard you argue. Using that logic, might as well forget prosecuting Himmler, Hitler, etc., because hey, they were technically the superior officer during the Holocaust, but they didn’t actually participate.
General- sir we need to equip the ANA with modern equipment as we've been doing for the last 18 years.
President- okay do it.

Is not the same as

Hitler- new policy. genocide the jews!
SS- Jawol, fuhrer

Any assertion otherwise is madness. Just stop.

Agree.

In public remarks and homilies, Burke endorsed several conspiracy theories related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Referring to it as "the mysterious Wuhan virus", he said that the virus is being used by certain forces to bring about a "Great Reset" in which they will bring about a "new normal" through imposition of complete control over people through manipulation and fear. Burke called for prayer and penance to combat the Great Reset. He has denounced vaccine mandates and compared them to state-mandated microchipping for mass surveillance and control.[133][134]

Back to vidya, anyone else try the Back 4 Blood beta? Game is gonna be fire if they work a few kinks out. I’ll be playing that and 2042 for sure.

I'm hyped for Battlefield 2042. I love the idea of going back to the battlefield 3 and 4 vibes, tons of vehicles and fun to be had for all. I'm interested to see what the hazard zone is like because it seems like it is going to be a neat experience allowing for a little bit more hardcore gameplay (its rumored to be a lot like tarkov).
