I think the bad ones who are on here pretending that everyone is going bar hopping on their time off and ignoring the fact that the intent of reduced schedules is to reduce the number of people in the building. I also think it’s pretty stupid to argue that you think you should be allowed to smoke weed.
People talk about what they did on their days off. It’s not like a mystery. And I obviously don’t smoke week but I don’t have a problem with it being legal since it’s literally not bad.

Come on man. You can’t judge anyone’s abilities to work by their personal opinions and posts online

If we train we cannot keep our current schedules. Lets not pretend it is anything besides keeping this free leave gravy train going.

We're not on the good schedule but still don't have the bodies to train even if they wanted to, especially after losing multiple people for being too fat this week. I doubt they're the only ones we lose either. It's awesome continuing to work at a staffing level that was "unsustainable" while on the good schedule but only getting 2 day weekends out of it.

That’s why the argument from the anti-training crowd continuously shifts. It starts with “iTs AbOuT sAfEtY, i DoNt WaNnA gEt CoViD aNd DiE.” Then you mention how people all over the NAS are treating the 5 or 10 off which is INTENDED to help people isolate/quarantine like free leave and traveling/gathering with others etc, and suddenly the “well they can’t control what I do outside of work” argument pops up. Then when all else fails, say traffic is too low to train. Rinse, and repeat.
I think most people are past faking the COVID fears now, they simply say traffic is too low to train in or to justify a return to normal schedules.

I’ve read enough to know that I wouldn’t want to work around them and I certainly wouldn’t want to train them, COVID or no COVID. You have trainees where multiple people are willing to train and then you have ones where everyone gets real silent when the supe starts asking who wants to train. Which category do you think they fall into?
I know I didn’t have a problem getting trained. So category 2?

The FAA will force everybody back to BWS when they notice the amount of ATSAP's go up. Can't tell you how many times in the last week I've seen some close deals in the neighboring sectors because they have sectors combined when they should be split. Then they say that they don't have the staffing for the day to split it up and just throw a D side on the sector. Meanwhile they have 3 people out on EA.

They came down on everyone here to finish elms to not give management ANY reason to go back

They came down on my facility too about elms. The FAA isn't trying to get sued. Imagine an accident or a near miss happens because of areas not being properly staffed when they have the capability to. This schedule was agreed upon in good faith. If the abuse of the system becomes more wide spread than I'm seeing now, expect the FAA to start cracking down.

Imagine if the faa recalls you and you in barbados
We had a trainee take off for home after he got put on EA and parked his car at the tower so even management knew he was gone. He was back 2 days after that first warning email came out a couple months back.

The hypocrisy in our world is outta control.
Is there a pandemic or no?
People who are taking leisure trips are mad because others aren't wearing masks. The Home Depot crowd is like it's never been before. People are demanding they get to train.

I just hope you're not out there calling people out for putting the economy over lives.

Glad they came back at least you all are training

Imagine fucking up someone’s whole career. Then get mad when they leave the state while they wait for you to get your shit together.
He’s a pervious experience new hire with zero ratings. He’s getting paid D3 money to do nothing. I don’t have a feeling one way or the other about him going home but I definitely don’t feel bad for him.

My issue here is we were given zero guidance about what recallable meant. They said don’t come in and cya. Until people were unavailable for recall nothing was disseminated by the FAA or Natca. I just assumed that I would be recallable for the next day at the earliest. Easy enough to hop on a quick flight.
It’s a different situation for the people that were working and on 5/10 but recallable if there was an issue, but they still weren’t notified what was expected as far as recall timeline.

We were told that on our 10 off we would 100% not be called in even if there wasn’t enough staffing
