You'll fit right in at N90. Procedural knowledge not necessary. Just vector like a motherfucker and remember to apply frequency separation.
I don't get what the big deal is, if Billy Bob Thornton can walk in on day 1 stick a feather in his hair and push tin in "the most difficult airspace to work" then go home and bang Angelina Jolie surely it's a country club sans the 5 year wait time to get certified because literally EVERYBODY and their brother wants to work there.

Ehhh couldn’t last forever. I’m surprised it lasted this long. Was a nice break from the OT and the training. Gonna suck to start training these pukes again. I bet none of them studied and won’t know shit when they plug in
It’ll be a shitshow for sure. There will be no excuse...

who said anything about the 5/5 or 5/10s going away?

oh yeah ....crickets. that's right folks, literally nobody.

and another thing for you .... since you clearly couldn't read it for yourselves.... straight from the docs posted above... "the parties at the local level should collaboratively determine crew assignment for a trainee based on the position/sector they are assigned for OJT...."
sounds like 5/10 and 5/5 are safe. Glad I could put your minds at ease....

Welp... That really sucks for the trainees who were deemed essential too late for their 120 days. I imagine there are going to be trainees who end up leapfrogging them.

Till one certifies and you want to do a shift swap with them ?

The sentence before furthers your case even more.

i. The trainee’s assignment to the facility’s current schedule.

They're going away at my reasonably staffed Z (according to atm and facrep) if training starts back up because of one area being not as well staffed. So I would assume the same for other centers, could be wrong tho. But bring on the trainees! it was fun while it lasted.

In that case, I say your Z should never train again in order to remain on 5/5! 🙂 You shall never need additional trainees to make staffing work in 5 years.

Live look at the training restart....

If I was a trainee and had to certify during these times, sure it would be great to get checked out super quick, but i'd be scared once traffic ramps up. Over the past 6 months, the most aircraft I had to sequence was 7, but normally it would be about 30 airplanes in each push 4 times a day. Talking about it with your trainer in theory is all fine and dandy, but working it will be a total different beast. GOOD LUCK!!!

Traffic has ramped up or never dropped at some places

You're absolutely correct! How dare anyone think we should be training right now? In fact, I think we need to suspend training until 2025 at the very soonest! What do you think?

Get Checked out super quick. I haven’t even trained in 9 months. None of this is quick

I'm just glad it was specified current traffic levels, we got a guy struggling with some pattern work and there hasn't been one lately

That's not that bad, we has a CPC ask our ATM if we can tell the flight schools to tone it down withthe TANG...currently the joke of the tower.

Seeing the Archie league email and past award winners made me think it’s basically all dependent on what leadership submits, because I’ve seen similar situations not even get praised on the floor, and more noteworthy ones also not get submitted as a save or anything. Most I’ve seen is the supe joking about “put yourself in for a save”. Not diminishing the award winners, just random thoughts I had
