Not at the rate that Trump has. The actual act of a president going on vacation or golf trip isn’t that big of a deal. But the rate Trump has gone golfing and the fact that it all gets funneled back into his pockets because it’s his resorts is worthy of criticism. I personally would rather him go golfing all he wants, means less time in the office doing some dumb shit. But it doesnt make sense to me to care about the money spent on the investigation but not the money spent on his golfing.
 
All this talk about hospitals, bad tests, someone who drowned being counted as a COVID death when they shouldn't have been.

There is one number, and one number only, that you have to look at. Excess deaths.

People dying is not a new phenomenon. We expect them to do it. We have statistics on it. We know roughly how many people would die over any given week in a normal year.

Nationwide, 246,600 more people have died than usual from March 15 to Aug. 22, according to C.D.C. estimates, which adjust current death records to account for typical reporting lags. That number is about 70,000 higher than the official count of coronavirus deaths for that period.

That's real. That's serious. That's a 9/11-worth of American deaths every two days.

Two points:

1) No matter how many times Obama did or didn't golf, him golfing didn't put money directly into his pocket. For one, he more often played at DOD-operated courses—there's less temporary infrastructure the Secret Service needed to set up, etc. For two, he didn't own the fucking courses he played at. He didn't bill the Secret Service for the golf cart rentals they needed to follow him around.

2) Trump has been golfing far more often than Obama.

The willful ignorance is mindboggling...

I would imagine it's less the money, and more so the time and effort spent on it without having a budget for the next fiscal year...

Unless Trump’s golf courses are charging the federal government more than they would charge other golfers, or other gold resorts would charge, it’s a moot point. If he starts charging himself thousand of dollars in excess I would understand outrage.

This is the bottom line for me. Our contract expires during the next term and trump has made it clear he doesn’t want to negotiate with federal unions. I wasn’t around for white book but I feel like if we re-elect him we’d be dreaming of the white book days.

They have charged the secret service hundreds of thousands for fucking golf carts. He’s embezzling federal funds.
