I recall reading a reddit thread back asking commenters what country they'd like to be reborn in if they had a choice. The majority was.... not the US lol. aka if you had no control over your upbringing (as most people do) then you'd probably want to live in a country with policies that support the population, thus some countries in Europe. Or be super filthy rich in Monaco.
Answer this one for me... how do we pay for this utopia? The simple answer is we can't. There is no possible way to generate enough tax revenue to fund all these dreams. Hell, we already put $1 trillion a year on the government credit card on for all the wonderful "benefits" we currently enjoy. This year it'll probably be $5 trillion and the economy will still be structurally damaged beyond repair to the point of no return, with nothing to show for the $5 trillion spent. Their solution will just be to give us even more government relief. Pretty soon, we'll be talking about real money. It's only a matter a time before the USD loses reserve currency status and the dollar falls through the floor and we're all living in the same socialist hell that many have lived before us. We are in such a position of weakness economically and we haven't even began to implement the socialist policies you advocate for. So please, do enlighten me on how all of it will be paid for because my big brain must've fucked up the simple math that I can't believe no one has ever been able to figure out before.

I love my country. There's very few places I'd rather live, and even if I did leave, I'd never renounce my citizenship. I just think we can do so much better than we are now.

Seems reasonable as fuck. The Fed is to blame for reinflating the stock market to save your dad's 401k so he doesn't have to move in with you. The Fed is literally junk bonds to keep this whole house of cards from collapsing but they're only prolonging the inevitable. So if you want to blame the rich for getting richer, start your search there. I also agree, the military budget is completely out of hand and needs to be cut down.
If you leave and pay the government thousands of dollars to renounce your citizenship, you still have the obligation to pay federal income taxes even though you don't live here anymore. We're the only country in the world that will hunt you down anywhere in the world to collect taxes on foreign produced income. That's how great our country is.
