IMO, there needs to be an amendment when the new contract rolls around that says D1 pay comes after your first 2 certs, OR after 12 months on AG, whichever comes first. Everything D1 and above is fine, but AG is fucking tough to get by on when you’re looking at years in the band. Single people are living paycheck to paycheck, and people with families have to get side jobs just to make ends meet. Incentivized pay raises makes sense, but that’s also based on assumption people are going to either earn it or wash within a certain time frame. But being perpetually trapped at $47K with no end in sight is tough for a lot of people, and nobody in NATCA seems to be aware and/or give a shit.
