1 level 8 was picked (CLE). From the ATC New Hiring Discord
Feels like they are miscalculating the numbers to "training facilities." SRQ was 92.3% actual staffing and projected 97.1% but it shows they are allowed to gain 2. CMA currently staffed 100% and projected 104.7% was eligible to gain 1. I think with this new system, the rich are going to get richer. While I think there are some positive changes to placement allowing a lot more flexibility, it also heavily favors the most desirable level 6/7 tower only facilities to become revolving doors while undesirable lower level towers and up/downs wait their turn to eventually become a "priority facility" so an AG is forced to them. We're going to see a lot more FPR, PDK, PNS, AFW, FTW, ADS, PDX selections out of the academy over the coming months while the HLN, MLU, and LFT's of the world get left far behind.

Not posting a 100+ placement list, but I will post the facilities that are category A (must be chosen by someone) and category B (bottom 25% choose)

7/12 Terminal List
Cat A: ADW
Cat B: SYR FWA TOL ALO CDW ELM
Cat C: basically every terminal facility 4-7
Cat D: all 8's (reserved for graduates that score 90+)

Does this include TRACON-only facilities? Or just level 8 up/downs?
Level 8 and below Tower-only and Tower/approach control facilities below the summarized Projected % to Target. Only Tower graduates scoring 90% or higher in the Initial Qualification for Tower Cab Controller Training course will be eligible to choose level 8s

Ya know what would be pretty sick, if training facilities were able to release one extra person in NCEPT since they are intentionally overstaffing one already. To "foster upward movement" ofc.

Anybody know if they're approving terminal/tower class waivers? We are an up/down and a developmental finished radar training and was told to wait until fall for a tower class, but I feel like we could teach it all in-house

We have heard the same thing here. Guess it’s mandatory.

The Syracuse slot is ol’ boy’s replacement for that rwy 28 squeeze
The VASAviation YouTube video just dropped. It's only a matter of time before something bad happens. Maybe fast food wages and 6 day weeks aren't the most best ways to ensure the safety of the NAS. I hear the folks at HPN tried to sweep their deal under the rug and didn't file an MOR and now someone is going to have get slapped on the wrist.
