The FAA staffing problem that NO ONE is talking about

I have no idea where the 20% came from. Just a repeat on that number. But as far as NATCA goes, silence is deafening. Even in a tailspin of uncertainty good leadership should make it known they have your back. I understand entirely taking us out of facilities to add one extra layer of protection for CPC's. But, that's no excuse for the crickets. Shouldn't need to come to this site for updates on what they're trying to accomplish. Face mask or whatever it is. That should be sent in our lovely here's what we did for today emails.
It’s known natca reads this site too since trainees have been told not to talk shit 🤣

In all fairness that trainee called out his FacRep, right or wrong how can you not expect someone to defend themselves?

Not talking shit. Just stating the obvious. More communication is needed. Even if it is just to say sorry we don't have more for you yet.
Discussions were made a National level but we are not ready to discuss those discussions with you yet, trust us we know what is best for you.

No i know of a scenario where a trainee was told there’s ppl saying bad stuff about natca online.

I mean, that’s pretty generic. That’s not “NATCA is monitoring this site” that’s “most of the people on this site are also in NATCA”

It’s nothing that’s happened here. Just a rep that stated at a facility that natca knows ppl have been talking shit online
I mean it is not surprising... If you were here 3 years ago when we had our elections and everything I was posting about Paul's opposite number, I caught a ton of flak for it. One individual even came up to me and told me "Paul does not like you." My bad for asking questions and having opinions when being lied to lol.

Yah i was here. I’d imagine the other aviation unions are getting about daily updates during the pandemic. At least from the amount of leaks I read online.

It seems like NATCA, much like our politicians, have forgotten that they work for us. How fucking soft is NATCA if they can't handle people talking bad about the union.

I’d bet my entire measly D1 trainee TSP account nobody currently employed by the FAA gets furloughed. Furloughing air traffic controllers due to low air travel demand doesn’t fit the “V-Shaped recovery” headlines being spoken, printed, shared, and tweeted by politicians every day since Early April. I’m convinced Our government would rather spend another $5-10 trillion in a stimulus package than admit we’re in a lasting recession.

Its fear mongering by mnsalty. I said it on day one when he posted about furloughs and now look what its turned into. It is only this site that it talking about furloughs. Funny how nobody at my facility has even brought up the word furlough.

I agree with you. I also think natca would Yeet you and I before suggesting CPC get a .2% pay cut

You could be talking about Mongolian basket-weaving and him and Bama would say “Basket-weavers get furloughed all the time just like trainees will be.”

Maybe some of you will finally stop asking for more money during all of this. Sometimes it’s best to keep your mouth shut and remain unnoticed during times like these. I got stuck in a team briefing with my OM after I had been there 4 years. She said “What’s your name?” I was there 4 years...I had a good run.

But you guys do you.

I was just on NATCA membership site and I didn’t see anything about furloughs, RIF or yeeting trainees. There was an update about a 400% increase of positive Covid cases in June though. Also, there was information on how to contact Regional leadership.

A 400% increase is a lot larger than it sounds. There were probably 8 cases instead of 2

whatever gets you to sleep at night. It’s a pretty complex system and I don’t think anyone is realizing how big this is gonna get.
Furlough or no furlough I will sleep just fine, I will be financially good for a while. Everyone here knows how complex the system is, but not everyone feels the need to spread the doom and gloom on here all day.
