I’d prefer the union take the safety route by reducing the potential for myself and other BUEs from being exposed to unnecessary risk and potentially dying.

it would be awesome if this was addressed in the CBA... oh wait...

Every time we had government shut downs and furloughs I was hoping someone would say this and eliminate jobs. Not controller jobs but the layers and layers of redundancy jobs, administrative support people that you never noticed them do something once when they were there or noticed anything missing with them gone, or move people from teams like the airspace and training departments at centers which often have 4X the people they need back to the floor.

FLMs should be first to go. Completely useless position with functionally 0 power or productivity within the construct of how facilities realistically operate. also a drag on the operation from a currency, operational proficiency, providing good service level. The contractor jobs in theory serve a purpose, but in reality because the old men who get those jobs are retired entitled controllers who refuse to work more than 2 hours a day, they can go to. bye bye #PackYourShit
 
Yeah because hazard pay reduces the risk...

obviously didn't say that, but typically people are more accepting of higher risk if they are properly compensated. sort of a self evident universal truth. LOL one would think the same would theoretically apply to being forced to OJTI atc trainees during pandemic

I support your hazard pay 🙂. See we can want different thing but we can support each other.

He said he prefers the union take the safety routes by reducing the risk and you responded about how if only the CBA addressed it by referencing hazard pay. As you mentioned, nobody wants the OJTI differential either.

Apurrrently I changed subject and apurrrently ppl dont like that and apurrrently hazard pay isnt a thing cuz apurrrently the cba doesnt apurrrently count apurrrently grampa was in a union too

So busy work?
We’re watching the same power points we watched at academy, and when we started at our facility. Third time is the charm. Did you know 1000’ is the required vertical separation? 20 miles, 10 minutes Longitudinal!
It’s absolutely terrible to endure, but at least I can shit in my own toilet and wipe my ass with TP that isn’t rubbing me raw. And the food is better than what they provide in the vending machine. It’s not all bad, but it’s not as great as some are making the schedule out to be either.

We have to do recurrent training every year. Twice a year, actually! So at some point, they probably will! I’ll gladly sit at home and watch the same controller at Potomac have atrocious deals while making that sweet, sweet CPC money

Bet you wouldn’t if you were 5 on and they made you work on your EA days.

If you think about trainees are doing 3 days more “work” per pay period.

Developmentals go to récurrent too. This isn’t that. And then you rub in the money that is locked and no one in the agency can aspire to anymore.
