You win ?
Where’s my back pay?Morning folks, Rinaldi here.
You don’t sim on every sector before you train on it. Each area has a training sector for the lab. You pass your evals on that one, then you go to the floor, and move from sector to sector. Since they called us back and had us recertify before the 120 mark, we won’t have to go back to the sims. I don’t doubt we’d have to start over on hours on our current sector though.
Mr. Rinaldi, sir, before the training hold thread is locked again can you confirm that NATCA supports almost all of its trainees?Morning folks, Rinaldi here.
He’s right tho. We only sim on 1 sector. That's not the case everywhere. Some places do all the sims first and then go to the floor.
Also, the 3120.4 applies specifically to OJT, not an expiration of time since sims/classroom. so i say again, it's pretty much a crap shoot if people will have to re-do sims.
Our area alone would have 13 trainees that would have to go back to sims then lol. They don’t have the time to send, a conservative, 80ish trainees back to sims for the whole center, then back to the floor. They‘ll just make up a justification to reset our hours on our last sector in a way that minimums will be even easier to hit. We’ll just get another 30 min over the shoulder on all our certified sectors when we go back. That's not the case everywhere. Some places do all the sims first and then go to the floor.

I can’t believe it took this long for someone to do this. I’m a little disappointed I didn’t think of it.Morning folks, Rinaldi here.
NATCA fully supports each and every single BUE that we have.
We understand times are tough and that answers are being sought, given the situation we are all currently facing. NATCA’s main priority is the safety and well-being of its members. The training initiative is still being discussed on a daily basis with the Agency.
If he had started with “brothers and sisters” I might have believed it lolI can’t believe it took this long for someone to do this. I’m a little disappointed I didn’t think of it.
That would mean National is acknowledging that trainees exist though which ain’t gonna happen. If he had started with “brothers and sisters” I might have believed it lol
That must be a Z thing... We go to classroom and sims before each new sector we train on. Once for departure, once for satellite, once for arrival. You don’t sim on every sector before you train on it. Each area has a training sector for the lab. Yah the z you do your 30 problems or whatever on one sector. Once you pass you do a couple fams on the remaining sectors. Then you go train. You can even start training on the fam only sectors from the lab. But you should have a good understanding of the whole ares from d side trainingThat must be a Z thing... I’m at a Z and we sim on every sector before we start training on the floor (for both D and R).That must be a Z thing... We go to classroom and sims before each new sector we train on. Once for departure, once for satellite, once for arrival.
Guess it is. Huh, you learn something new every day! Unless you’re on admin attending zoom classes where in the last week we’ve gone over separation standards...That must be a Z thing... Interesting.. That’d be both nice to where you actually know what’s going on, but also annoying that it’d take longer. We just get 4 hours of observation then thrown to the training wolves lol.I’m at a Z and we sim on every sector before we start training on the floor (for both D and R).
Yeah I believe you’re supposed to get a certain number of FAM hours on each sector before your OJT begins. If I’m not mistaken, facilities have the option of doing those hours either in the sim or on the floor which is maybe why it’s different in different places. IMO it is definitely nice to at least get a feel for it before you’re thrown down there lol.Interesting..
