There’s only a handful of people who are deep enoguh in-the-know to be able to answer that, and I doubt any of them are posting here. We can speculate. It’s fun. What will really happen is being decided behind the closed doors of the NEB and presumably in consultation with various attorneys and LR type people. What will happen is anyone’s guess.Did we ever answer if the contract is being extended?
My guess is natca is prepping for both scenarios. An extention would be deeply unpopular but if trump puts his EOs back in place they wouldn’t feel they have much choice. He’s not the president yet and he’s famously unpredictable so who knows exactly what stance the admin will take. I have to imagine they will wait and see, while preparing options to either negotiate and extend.
If the EOs go back, I’d bet on an extension, if they don’t, even if the admin is adversarial, there a lot of people that are sick of the status quo and the leadership ignores them at their own peril.
I feel that natca expects to be given a contract. They have not shown any balls to be willing to go out and actually fight for one.
