Housing

Marriotts are nicer than Hilton’s nationwide.
The new Residence Inn on Meridian is nice. The Embassy on meridian is shit. Hilton Garden and Homewood in Bricktown are nice.

I’d rent a midtown condo and just party until labs.

This is the Kims food list, split it with your roommate every 2 weeks.

Edit: actually this looks dated compared to the list I got last week. some of the quantities are bigger

If you really wanted to be frugal and not have much variety, there is enough food that you could live off just this and bank the daily per diem

hmm that sucks hopefully that changes by the time i get around there. but i was planning on just bringing my pressure cooker and cast iron pan and packing my lunch and what not and eating the leftovers for dinner etc
Stop being sensible. You’re never going to make it in this job. Plan on ramen and frequent stops at Night Trips hoping one of the young ladies will take pity on you and give a handy out back next to the dumpster. Spoiler alert: it’s terrible

Looking at other people's experiences, I would prefer having my own place so Anatole would probably be my choice and would not consider Kim's. Hotels would only be good if you have a big enough room with a kitchen/laundry etc. I can't imagine people being at the academy for a few months eating nothing but fast food and hotel breakfast. It might be good to stay at a hotel to bank reward points to potentially find somewhere to stay at your first facility when you're looking for apartments.

Anatole for the win if you don't want roomates

If you are going to be there for tornado and hail storm season get the carport. Right around the corner was a bomb Chinese buffet, not sure they are doing for Covid tho.

Anatole and Walmart delivery was the way to go for me. Although if I were to do it all over again, I might consider one of the hotels. Anatole does have an awesome gym that is hardly ever used by anyone. Shuttle is quick and easy. Classmates at Kims ended up moving to Anatole halfway through OKC. Anatole is closer to downtown and Cowboys too which makes for cheaper ubers

Studying was not an issue at all either. We all just rotated whose apartment we would go to

I stayed at South Anatole and had a good experience. It was my own apartment. No roommates. ~13 min from Academy, ~5 minutes from Walmart.

One more vote from me for just partying in midtown. No tears on the last day when you need back 97s to pass though.

Has anyone stayed at FAA Crashpads? Anatole no longer offers carports and I don't want roommates. Seems you can get both with just your per diem at FAA Crashpads but I can't find many reviews on them.

I stayed with them a couple years ago. They have a house 5 minutes from the academy and one near kims place. Rob and Sara are the owners, super nice and accommodating. Whenever something was needed it was taken care of same day. I would recommend staying with them.

Was it in a decent neighborhood or area? And can you have the house all to yourself without room mates?

Does anybody know if any of these housing providers have space to set up a desk and my computer? I’d like to bring my set up with me but I’m having trouble seeing which provider would have space the best space for it.

My apt at Anatole had a built in desk. All my classmates didn’t though. You could always bring a card table. Or buy one.
