Drug tests are urinalysis? It says in the CIL email that it is different than urinalysis at the doctors office l. What did this mean exactly? Not worried at all, just curious.

You will give a urine sample at your medical appointment for urinalysis. You will also have a separate date for a drug test at a clinic (most likely) where you submit a urine sample for that purpose specifically. That's all they mean.

The one at the medical exam is checking for diabetes and something else.. I can’t remember what the other one is but I think it was something with kidney function.

I was wondering if anybody has any insight on the "illegal use of drugs or drug activity" portion of the EQIP. I chose to be completely transparent about my past drug use which only comes down to smoking marijuana occasionally from the point of high school ( 2008 ) until late 2019. I haven't touched it in over a year and I don't intend on trying it again, but I am worried that I will be DQ'ed because of my transparency.

I had this same concern and decided to be honest. After submitting my eQip docs, my security rep emailed me for a statement. This was the prompt:

Provide a written statement detailing the circumstances that led to your drug use.
· Provide the nature of use (ex. smoking.), frequency, and number of times used.
· Do you currently associate with any individuals that are involved with drugs or controlled substances?
· Do you intend to use any drug or controlled substance in the future? Provide an explanation of why you intend or do not intend to use drugs or controlled substances in the future.

I responded with a short paragraph addressing each question. I've been continuing through the process with no issue so I don't think it will be an auto DQ

As long as you're not a habitual user of drugs, you'll be fine. There's quite a few people that have security clearances with prior drug use even "hard" drugs and felonies. I disclosed drug use and still got my conditional clearance. No personal statements or anything.

I got fingerprinted, and when I received the email they just background checked me, and said I passed an FBI background check. They didn’t actually give my my fingerprints.
