Training hold

Nah, then there would be bitching that there are too many trainees and not enough lab time and not even traffic to train on. How you're only getting one session per day because you have to share positions or how all you're doing is drawing maps because you have to wait.

When they do bring ALL trainees back, for most facilities it will be completely useless to bring everyone back at one time. The classroom and labs cannot handle that. They should gradually bring people back based on who has been waiting the longest or who was furthest in training or who will certify quickest... pick your poison.
That’s how it’s always been lol. You wait around till it’s your turn. I think a phased recall makes sense cus the sitting around is pointless.

They could even be like knocking out lab work totally away from the floor at a minimum. Lab is a significant portion of your training at a center

Absolutely could be. To be fair I know my center has plans to get the labs running a few weeks before they estimate training can resume on the floor so people can start training as quick as possible. We've also been doing the classroom parts of r and d schools via zoom.

*and several facilities have recalled trainees multiple times to do CBIs/eLMS. How is it “safe” to bring people in the building for that but not to progress in their training?
Because you're sitting in a computer lab not interacting with anyone on the control floor...

Our lab is up and running right now. Except one trainee at a time instead of two. Has been for a few months.

Then how’s that different than going to the lab and at least knocking out a few FAMs? That would help a little with the backlog you referenced. And in response to that, something is better than nothing. Hundreds of people have literally not been able to advance at all in a year. Even 1 problem a week would be an improvement.

Sir, this is a Wendy's. Get out of here with that logic.

Yah ours is too. But you have to be in the special group that was deemed safe to train to use it lol. I’ve been training since it restarted with absolutely no problem and now there’s a big black hole behind us of kids waiting to get recalled.

A lot of facilities are (finally) actually getting close to meeting the criteria. Guess we’ll see how the next couple of weeks actually play out. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked to see some new excuse for why full training can’t resume though.
Yep. I was recalled back when the requirement was orange. Since then we had one guy scheduled to come back to us, but now the requirement is yellow. I thought it would be May/June before we got to that point, but now I'm thinking March. Just a couple weeks back everything was red, now many places already are yellow. Moving quick.

I wouldn’t be surprised one bit. For the first few months, it was “we have wait for COVID to die down”. Then COVID started slowing down and it shifted to “we have to wait for traffic to start picking back up.” Then traffic slowly but steadily started improving, and it was “we gotta wait for face shields/PPE.” Then everyone got their PPE, and the magic Harvard map with insanely difficult criteria to meet popped up. And that’s the last anyone has heard for 5+ months. It’s been one excuse after another for a year and any time you question the status quo, you just get hit with the “yOu sHoUlD Be hApPy yOu’rE StIlL GeTtInG PaId” bullshit.
Show me where on this fucking chart COVID "started slowing down." Or are you talking about that little dip in September (right before cases skyrocketed around the holidays like everyone said they would) where it went down to levels that were still higher than when training was stopped in the first place?

NOW it does start to look like bringing in people from outside the building would be acceptable, in the next several weeks-to-a-month, if this steep downward trend continues and people start getting their second vaccine doses.

I got vaccine #1 and I’m still not training. Ig doesn’t seem to matter if you get it or not
Unless you got the J+J shot (which you didn't) having the first round doesn't mean a whole lot. Better than nothing but you have to wait a couple weeks after the second round to have real protection.
