Has anyone else had a long wait for medical clearance? I finished everything in the middle of December and haven't heard from medical since the end of 2020. Granted I had prior medical issues that got taken care of and I had to send in extra paperwork regarding them, just seems like most people have heard something from them in a relatively short period of time.

I'm in the same boat as you except I didn't have any prior medical issues or additional paperwork ? I've checked in twice with my medical POC and they just said that it's pending review by the flight surgeon.

Everyone’s timeline is different. It depends who checks your paperwork. I did my MMPI on and medical the first couple days of January. They emailed me Saturday night and said that I cleared medical. They are working through them.

If anyone thinks its taking abnormally long for medical don't hesitate to shoot them an email. I got medically cleared on February 2, however my clearance was never forwarded to aviation careers and would not have been if I didn't inquire about it. Its 19 days late but at least I know they got it now.

Medical done mid-December, Drug Test late-December and MMPI mid-January. I inquired a couple weeks ago and found out I was clear. But didn’t have any medical conditions. I think it just depends on your luck/region/POC/etc. It’s security that’s dragging for me...

I’ve emailed medical a few times in the last couple of months. Haven’t gotten a response at any point. Last I heard from them was in December. I have no problem waiting. Just seems odd they wouldn’t give me any updates or even respond to an email saying, “hey we got your email”

Just a question for you, did they ask for additional paperwork / tests relatively quickly after your medical exam with AME?

It was before my AME. After sending my pre-employment interview worksheet back they sent me an email asking for specific documentation for certain medical things from my past that I listed on part 6. I had everything sent back to them about a week after my physical which was the last thing I needed to do. The last time I heard from medical (end of Dec.) they couldn’t find my drug test but after talking to 3 different people about it, they finally found it.

Thanks for the quick response!

I completed all my medical steps in mid December and just got my clearance yesterday. I emailed the 9-agl 2-3 and they got back to me every time within a day.

So I contacted my Security POC for an update on Friday. This was the reply today, "No additional information is needed at this time. Your HR POC should be in contact with you soon." My HR Rep replied to my email that I sent out yesterday regarding my status stating that "I am still showing you are pending your clearances. If you would like a more detailed inquiry, please get with your medical/security POC’s."

So is that good or bad? lol

My rep has said “We did received the requested information and your electronic file has been forwarded to a Flight Surgeon for a potential initial medical clearance.”
What does that mean exactly?

Just got an email from my medical rep saying the flight surgeon reviewed my case and is requesting another EKG and eye exam. Didn't elaborate on why. The Dr. at my physical told me everything was perfect lol.

Gotta play Russian roulette and call one of them out. Question is which one is telling the truth and which one just doesn’t want to do their job?
