Facility requiring trainees to have vaccine or have training suspended?

The second the vaccine is fully approved every single federal agency will require it by the end of business that day.
NATCA won’t have a say.
Are you saying NATCA will not be eligible for an opinion on the matter? Or that they will choose to not protect members?

NATCA will not be eligible for an opinion against an executive order or full governmental policy. A lot of members would argue that protecting anti vaxxers isn’t protecting the members.
Well 32, I appreciate your feedback. I'll choose not to respond to the second part of your comment as that violates my initial comment about this not being a place for bickering.

That being said, I am ignorant about what the union is able to do/not to do. I'm guessing the comment about the union not being eligible for an opinion is based on a regulation or law?

Remember when Biden came in to office and put an executive order saying everyone had to wear masks.

NATCA changed the mask MOU to comply with the EO. This would be the same

The unions job is to talk to the FAA and negotiate a solution that works for both sides. Sometimes the FAA doesn’t give two shits about what NATCA wants, and imposes orders anyways. NATCA can choose to fight it or go along with it, for example the mask MOU. NATCA isn’t going to die on a hill for something like a mask mandate, because that leaves them less negotiating room for whatever the next disagreement is.

Sometimes NATCA has to play ball in Washington.

You clearly stated it yourself. NATCA changed the MOU. Collaboration. You think the FAA can say this is what’s happening and NATCA says okay? Hell no. I’ll defend NATCA on this one. They will fight that shit if it changes anything related to our job. Anything that doesn’t fit into their political agenda. That’s the key. NATCA knows people are not vaccinated and not wearing masks but are pretending they don’t know. It’s just a matter of time until stuff happens and national agrees to new orders. All of this is covered in the Slate Book. That is the contract. When the faa does something that breaks contract, NATCA has the power, and uses it to take back what order was done and then ask for something more. The contract is key to everything. And it just got extended.

The change in MOU literally said it was because of the EO. So they pretty much stated there’s no choice.

NATCA can negotiate rules imposed by the FAA. They can not negotiate an Executive Order by the President. If the EO says vaccine or no job, the only thing NATCA can do is make sure that the FAA fires you correctly. Some of y’all really don’t understand what a Union can and can’t do. The only effect NATCA can have on an EO is during the drafting process by getting various politicians to push for what NATCA wantsx.

Some people are gonna be very sad when they find out natca isn’t going to fight a vaccine mandats
Ha, I see now. No wonder you were so quick to reply.

Well, personally I hope they fight a mandate on vaccines. I'm not an "anti-vaxxer" but making employees take this leads down a slippery slope.

It depends on what types of battles they are willing to fight. I’m more in favor of them spending their energy in negotiating the 4-day, 8-hour workweek, but that’s just me.
More likely to end up with an eternal slate book but it’s nice to dream!

Don’t hold your breath. Natca leadership politically in favor of vaxx mandate would be my bet.

There’s gonna be vaccine mandates absolutely everywhere starting next month. So you might as well just get it at this point.
