Ok the vaccine help prevent hospitalizations and reduce severity of infections...

But vaccines do not provide immunity?

What other vaccine doesn't provide immunity and is simply a booster?

It provides immunity in a lot of cases. The flu vaccine is similar. Moderna says their efficacy is still around 70% with delta. Pfizer seems worse. Not all vaccines are 100%. But your body knows what to do when they see the delta so you beat it easier. No deaths in Iceland since may is pretty crazy

Before there was a vaccine people were constantly carrying the virus with zero symptoms. I’m sure those numbers are counted towards vaccine immunity results now. Food for thought.

There's absolutely criticisms to be made if the administration was aware it was gonna be a goat rope and proceeded anyways before we got the people out who needed out, particularly the afghanis that are in danger for helping us.

Obviously no, no one wants to stay in Afghanistan, but it's painfully obvious the timing and planning on this was awful and if that tweet is any indicator, literally everything else Biden has to say in the month or two leading up to this last week was best case ill informed, worst case a bold faced lie. If it was Trump would your reaction be "so what?"

That said.....would it have been better under the other guy? No, probably not. I'm glad we are out, but dems who went on for years about Trump denying asylum visas and turning away El Salvadorans and kids in cages etc who haven't said a peep the past few months about the monumentally slow processing of afghanis applying for asylum over a situation we created is pathetic.

Most have no point. They vaguely care about Afghanistan and this is the first "gotcha!!" in the war of left vs right since this new president is in office.

Leaving Afghanistan was always the right move.. if after 20 years and trillions spent, the ANA basically gives up and doesn't care to fight, why should we care to anymore

The point is, this puppet that is occupying the White House just single handedly, YES IT WAS ALL HIM! armed the taliban and abandoned the people of Afghanistan, all while claiming he was honoring Trumps deal. Yea right, he had no problem overturning all the other Trump policies once he got into the White House but this was THE ONE he was going to try and honor. Trumps plan was not to leave all of our weapondry behind for the Taliban and beg for them to let us leave. The country has "jumped the shark" You millenials will likely have to look that phrase up.

Right on. The point was not the ‘why’ of leaving, it was ‘how’ it was done.

Biden has been for leaving Afghanistan for like a decade now, I really don't think there was ever a good exit strategy after all this time and $$.

I'm really not sure why I'm even responding to someone with a username such as yours tho lol. Just a couple more months and Trump will be back in office amirite?
 
We needed out.
20 years of quagmire.
Trump started the ball rolling on pulling out.
The chaos, however, and abandonment of as many as 10,000 us citizens in country, lies squarely on this administration.
No guarantees that trump would have done it better, but Biden has been for ending the Afghanistan war. He has to eat this loss on his legacy.
 
If the country stays stable for the next month and they get everyone out I don’t even thing it’s going to be seen as that bad. It he certainly has a lot to turn around.

my favorite take so far is Biden changed all of trumps plans he should have changed this one too.

Except, he didn't follow Trumps plan to leave Afghanistan. He just picked up and left. He disregarded "The Experts". I don't know why I waste my breath on people like you.
 
Anyone that thinks Trump is a genius after his “this goes away with the heat, in April” and “just like that, it’ll be down to zero. In a few days. From fifteen to zero. It’s like a miracle” comments is just as much of a clown as Trump is. ?
