Pool 2 and "Qualified" last year as wellDid you apply last bid? If so, why pool were you and what score?
Yes, I would expect shorter unless this spike is bad enough that they have to close again. There was a period in there where the Academy was completely shut down, and then a period where they were super backlogged between basics and the academy. The backlog between basics and the academy is gone (I had exactly one week between them which was used to get to OKC), and they are ramping up the class rate again. I have heard rumors of another training hold though because of the rise in cases, and that would throw all guesses off. That’s a long process. So we are looking at a year until academy. do you think it will be shorter wait since covid is lessening and you applied to the bid right in covid? Got pool2 BQ btw.
That's a relatively short period of time between your referral and TOL dates, which is encouraging. I hope it's similarly quick this bid, but with Omicron and the holidays coming up, I think it’s probably unlikely to happen anytime soon.During my bid in 2019 I was referred on 10/29 and got my TOL on 11/15. Then I got my FOL in March
Yes many pool 2 BQs get picked up, including myself and every single one of my classmates at the academy. We didn’t have a single pool 1
Damn. I really hope it doesn’t get to that point where everything gets shut down again. Not to start a debate, but we’re just gonna have to learn to live with this virus. pool 1 bq, pool 2 bq, pool 1wq, pool 2wq, etc. Last bid almost every BQ and WQ got a TOL and VERY few Q apparently. That's a relatively short period of time between your referral and TOL dates, which is encouraging. Another thing I'm curious about is how they give out TOLs:
A) Do they select pool 1s (BQ, WQ & Q) before pool 2s?
B) Or do they go back and forth between pools? (e.g., pool 1 BQ, pool 2 BQ, pool 1 WQ, pool 2 WQ, etc.)
If we don't get TOL they will let us know at the same time?pool 1 bq, pool 2 bq, pool 1wq, pool 2wq, etc. Last bid almost every BQ and WQ got a TOL and VERY few Q apparently.
Sadly, no. They sent most TOLs based on alphabetical last names within like 1 or 2 days. If you don't hear from them within those days, probably means that you didn't receive one. Few people received TOLs couple weeks later I think, but not a lot. Majority will receive them on the same dayIf we don't get TOL they will let us know at the same time?
It's certainly a possibility but tbh I'm not confident they'll shut down the academy again. They didn't for Delta and now everyone who goes to the academy has to be vaccinated. I was affected by the shutdown as my original class date was June of 2020 but the academy was shutdown between March and July of 2020. I ended up going in December of 2020.Damn. Someone on Reddit posted a screenshot that said “A list of applicants has been sent to the office with this announcement. Your application was not included at this time.” Assuming this is the same as the non-referralDid anyone get below Q? Because it looks like on the aviator website it says "The FAA uses three quality categories for hiring and selection". I thought there was a fourth category which was non-referral you didn't get a passing score.

Yes, some people were not referred at all.Did anyone get below Q? Because it looks like on the aviator website it says "The FAA uses three quality categories for hiring and selection". I thought there was a fourth category which was non-referral you didn't get a passing score.
Did anyone hear of anyone getting TOL and getting an exemption approved? Just curious and not trying to start anything. It's certainly a possibility but tbh I'm not confident they'll shut down the academy again. Definitely takes longer. The ATO has to review and determine who they want to offer employment to.I just checked my aviator page and I got WQ. Tested 12/09. Has anyone gotten a TOL or does that take a bit longer?
Highly doubt it, MAYBE if you have proof of medical condition. My friends received their vaccination at the academy when they arrivedDid anyone hear of anyone getting TOL and getting an exemption approved? Just curious and not trying to start anything.
An exemption for what, the vaccine? If so, it’s highly unlikely to have one granted unless you can provide solid medical documentation that getting it would cause severe injury. Sounds like religious exemptions are almost non-existent. I know a handful of CPCs who put in for exemptions for varying reasons and they were all denied. Very unlikely they would grant one to a new hire.Did anyone hear of anyone getting TOL and getting an exemption approved? Just curious and not trying to start anything.
