MMPI-2 Tier 2 Process

Damn, I hadn’t heard that but that was my case, almost 13 months exactly
Yeah someone from the inside told me that. What is that medical release form you filled out a month before your evaluation? Did Hope send that?

Yikes... That seems unusually long. I would double check with the VHT people that your file is complete and there is nothing else they need from you. If they say you're good, it might just be a case of "fuck this guy in particular", which is uncommon but not unheard of. I'm from the 2019 bid myself and only completed my Tier II appointment in October
Haha they know I'm here, and both HR and RDC are tired of talking to me, although RDC is still cool about me emailing him. I wish I was in your timeline. Im in a time crunch with my lease.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm right there with you my man. I have to take a contract job across the country to make ends meet until I'm in the FAA... Which might be like 2 or 3 months. Will def have to break my lease and move all my shit again

The medical release form is required so that HQ can send your file to a psychologist before scheduling your appointment. SM sent it to me but I think she & hope work in the same department so it could possibly come from either. I mostly worked with RDC and Hope though

Your suffering does make me feel better, ha. With 5 months left on my lease, they could push me through the eval and get everything done, but they also could not and leave me without a home. My landlord makes everyone re-sign their lease 6 months early (there is no option for breaking the lease either). They gave me an extra month to make a decision, so I'm trying weigh betting on the FAA to get it finished for me in 5 months, or to sign the lease and lock down payments for another year and a half. RDC is trying to help me, but who knows what will happen.

I think your landlord is breaking the law by forcing you to make a decision to vacate or sign another lease six months prior. Pretty much every state has laws regarding written notices of vacating or renewing which are usually 30-60 days

Hmm, I'll have to look into that. I assumed it was legal because it is stated in the contract. They are the biggest agency in town and manage most of the properties here. They make all their properties align to the same month for lease signing.

The key is to welcome the suffering; I'm 99% positive the FAA doesn't suddenly start using common sense after you get hired either... Tier 2 should be mandatory pre-employment training as far as I'm concerned lol

On another note, do you know when your file was transferred to Tier II HQ? Wondering if it keeps with the 13 month average. Looking at your timeline, it makes me jealous since I was on an earlier bid, was notified of Tier II six months before you, and yet here you are way in front of me.

I've been keeping track of all my dates, not sure about that one though. How would I find that date? Was it sent in an email?

Ah it's not a date they tell you unless you ask I believe. I think it's a pretty important date if you're trying to figure out when your pysch appointment date will be, which you already had, so it's not very important to you. I have a hypothesis that is somewhat related (and mostly just ranting in frustration):

The flight doctor and the Tier II team are two separate entities. They are both only accountable for their own average file completion time, therefore the Tier II team will NOT put preference on a file even if the file's owner has been waiting for two years, since that is the flight doctor's problem, not theirs. The Tier II team only cares about the date they received the file and nothing else.

If they wanted to make the system fair, they would merge the responsibilities of the file time average and put the people waiting for two years in front of the people who have waited a single year. I simply don't understand why they don't. I feel like my hypothesis is the only way for it to make sense.

Hey guys, looking to see how many people are in the same boat as me. 2019 prior experience bid, was notified of Tier II in September of 2019. The flight docs took a long time and forwarded my file to the Tier II in January 2021. Tier II people won't talk to me and tell me to wait. They say they are working on a "First In First Out" mentality, but the "First in" does not mean first into Tier II, it is first to Tier II HQ. So if your flight docs take a long time, it screws you double. I've seen so many people, especially on this forum, that are in and out of Tier II that applied 6-12 months after I did.

How many people have been in the process for 2+ years without even scheduling their evaluations yet?
I took my test in June of 2020, MMPI was in December of 2020, and over a year ago (January 2020) I was notified of Tier II. At this point the stuff they're asking me to send has absolutely nothing to do with the MMPI or anything psychological; the Federal doctor said I had something which I don't (which isn't even disqualifying per their medical standards), and I've spent the last 9 months submitting test results, doctor's reports, etc proving I don't have such thing, yet they continue to ask for the same thing, just presented a different way.

This process is the biggest joke I've ever encountered. I've had to take an MMPI for my last few jobs, and each one had you sit with a psychologist about a week after the test to go over anything that might be a red flag BEFORE it's submitted to the powers that be. I'm pretty sure I "failed" this time because I answered "sometimes I feel like swearing" as a "no." Last time I took an MMPI I "failed" because I answered "I don't drink" and "it takes 3+ drinks to make me drunk" as a guess - which came back as me being an alcoholic.

Just to add my timeline so everyone can continue speculating on the current time frame for the tier 2 process

Mmpi 01/19/21
Tier 2 notification 02/12/21
Tier 2 coordination 05/26?/21 late may for sure alot of us got the same email that date
Scheduled my tier 2 appointment sometime in November
Tier 2 evaluation 01/07/21
And now I'm back to the wait and see game. Hopefully I'm all good and get cleared sooner than later.

I hope you know that you hit the absolute jackpot with your timeline. I'm sure you saw my whining above how I've been Tier II for 2 years and 4 months without even having an evaluation appointment yet. I can't believe your luck.

Bro what?! Have you reached out? I was hoping it would be a handful of weeks at best after the Eval to find out if I cleared or not.
Sent out a total of 7 emails two weeks ago with no response, outside of RDC. He can’t do much though it’s not in his hands.

Oh trust I'm aware, I should be counting my blessings I dreaded waiting years for my eval. There process is all over the place. Even my eval felt different to others, I spent damn near 8 hours with my psych.

I’m trying to go off some peoples time line and I had my tier 2 notification end of February last year. This waiting game shit sucks. I wanna email them sometimes but I also don’t want them to get mad and drop my name further down the list…squeaky wheel get the oils but I don’t know if that works in this case
