Question about seeing counselor

Hey all - cpc here have a medical coming up in April. Over Covid my wife and I ended up seeing a couples counselor and then not long after (without thinking) I saw a guy just for myself to work on my side of the issues. In order to code it for insurance he needed to put something that he was treating. He put anxiety/depression relating to marriage.

I was never prescribed anything at all - just saw him about 5 times.

Do I need to report those and should I be concerned?

If you’re a union member call AMAS for advice. They’re extremely helpful and they don’t report anything to the flight surgeon. I think most if not all of those docs were flight surgeons at one point or another.

If you are NOT a Union member, still contact AMAS for advice. Their services are available to anyone regardless of union affiliation. They are very affordable with a flat fee of $70 for a phone consultation and $50 for an email inquiry. Their phone # is 720-857-6117.

I have seen NATCA officers/reps misrepresent that AMAS is only accessible by those who are union members when, in truth, it is a private company that markets its services to anyone who needs assistance with FAA medical certification process, be it pilots or ATCSs.

True, the resource is available to all; the union pays a subscription for its members as part of their membership benefits so the service is available free of charge for them.

Definitely a useful tool that should be used by any and everyone regardless of membership status.
