Isn’t medical retirement almost as much as fers 25? What’s stopping people from scamming

You can 100% scam being temporarily dq and probably perm dq'd to get a staff job. From what I've seen personally getting disability retirement isn't as easy as people think. You have to get statements from your supervisor, doc and yourself just to apply. Plus I'm sure your Dr sends over medical records and plenty of people have been denied. I think processing time is around 6-9 months so if someone is trying to scam for disability retirement they aren't the brightest.

Not true. The rule is that you have to apply for SSA Disability in your application process for fed disability but you don’t have to be approved for it, just show proof that you applied.

It is reduced by the amount you receive from social security. you have to be on social security disability.
