Could you pass along that Phone Number.

Like I said it is an automatic voicemail. It’ll say something like you’ve reached such and such office if you’re a CIL or whatever holder do whatever leave a name and number and you’ll be put on a call back list. I just said I wanted a status update and they emailed me with the reason it was taking a while and I helped them fix a silly error by the AMEs office that I went to

Can’t promise it’ll yield the result your looking for but it helped me so I figured I’d share.

smitty30 you gonna share #1 and #2? and any headway on you beating the system and getting your #1 ?

I received facility assignment which was #2 at CPS. (1. GSP 2. CPS) Same offered start dates that smitty mentioned.
Nice! I'd recommend living on the MO side, or at the very least, get your gas over there ?

Waiting on my list and hoping CPS is still on there. Level 5 which isnt the best but being from STL id love to get back there.

Not sure if you are a vet and have disability but if youre 70% or higher then you dont pay property taxes in IL so your housing options go way up.

Feel free to reach out about the area if you have any questions.

Yep I've called and left my info twice. Once the beginning of June and again the other day. Still no call back.

For what it’s worth, I got nothing but 4-7s while having a 400k annual op tower on my resume (2 E/W parallels + 2 N/S parallels .. airfield looked like this - #). At one point I had found the hiring MOU that lays out the points system for ranking facility complexity. It’s quite arbitrary. Can’t remember exactly but they rank either parallels or intersecting a 1.0 and the other a 0.9 or 0.8 but they have no consideration for facilities which have both. Nor do they consider if/when you throw a banner field in the mix, or a helicopter pattern separate from your runways, or a blimp field.
Found it.
Previous Experience Hire Placement

Not sure if this belongs here or in another thread.

So I went to get another class II from the same AME I went to for FAA yesterday. Received an email today informing me that I am not currently eligible for a class II, with my medical history.

Email mentions I need to see a cardiologist and physical to be re-cleared. Has anybody had an incident like this in the past? So not only am I tier 2 but also temporarily unable to contract work now.

When filling out the stuff on medxpress, did you select "Contract" instead of FAA?

Thanks. Saved it this time lol

First, is there anywhere that defines what a type 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9 facility is? I’ve browsed around and can’t seem to find what defines that.

Second, on the experience entries for tower facilities, I have 5 CTOs. Would I be better off making a second entry for the facility that has parallels AND intersecting runways? Do one entry for parallels and one entry for intersecting. It would be replacing a facility with a single runway which is shit as far as placement points go.

Overall experience would be 5 tower facilities and 2 radar facilities. I think adding up all my points for tower experience, I’d rank at or above average but approach would most likely be below the average if there are a shit ton of Air Force controllers with multiple approach tickets. Considering that, it would place me in the “Type - 3, 4 Level - 7, 8, 9” category. But wtf are the “types” …

I have no idea what the types are. Age old question about whether to list one facility as both, or just as the most complex. It's a bkt surprising how many people on these experience bids have a lot of experience. Some people have been around! This is my first one, and I've got 4 CTOs and 10 years experience. However, so do a bunch of other people.

In the MOU, it says if you hold more than one position within a facility to input each individually (certified controller, supervisor, etc) so I’d love to think taking advantage of a facility where you have multiple ranking quals (parallel + intersecting) should work the same way. However, as we’ve learned, none of the decision making makes any sense and it makes less sense once you try to make some sense of it.

But to your last point, do you input your 5th CTO and get the guaranteed exp points or roll the dice and double up a facility where they might DQ it knowing there are other controllers who have a shit ton of experience as well. Like you said, the age old question.

Found it for reference in case anyone was curious.
