Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-23-ATCEXP-82723 (Prior Experience)

I’m just curious if anyone who applied on the last bid has heard anything from the FAA other than the following message?

Referral list FA-FAA-23-158035:Issued on 03/16/2023 for the All Air Traffic Locations, United States duty location at (the) AT-AG grade/payband. Your application is among those being reviewed by the office with announcement # FAA-ATO-23-ATCEXP-82723. You may or may not be contacted for an interview. Please continue to check back for status updates.

If the referral list only came out on 3/16 then you likely still have months before you hear anything.

All I can say is I am glad it worked out in the end for you, but that’s crazy having to wait 5 years for anything.
Oh I wasn’t waiting. I assumed I DQ’d the tier 2 and found a different career I could comfortably retire from. When I got the “are you still interested” email I showed it to the wife and asked if I should. She said what are they going to tell you, no?

I am awaiting a list in the September prior exp bid still. Moved pretty quickly for most applicants I believe. Military people are gonna have to wait for their lists closer to when the separate. My timeline is in my bio, I am out of the military in June.

Got selected on this bid, but advised I won't receive TOL since I'm still in the process from a previous announcement. With that said, TOLs might be coming soon.

Can you be a current FAA Controller and apply to the prior experience Bid? Because I did.

Former military controller with a CTO and over a year of experience but I applied OTS got picked up and passed the academy and now stuck in a years long training back log. I got the referral status change on aviator like everyone else on March 16th but will they actually consider my application or just disregard it?
I applied just to see what would happen because I was already a trainee at my FAA facility and they said they didn’t give me a TOL because I was already employed. Lol

Have yet to receive a TOL for 76330, 80642 and this bid 82723. My AVIATOR on all three bids states a referral list was issued. Your application is among those being reviewed. You may or may not be contacted for an interview. Please continue to check back for status update. I have called the aviation careers phone number listed on each bid and get the same response from Pam stating, "The hiring manager is the one who makes that decision." I'm an 18-year prior CPC who has been separated from the agency for the past 2 years.

Are you including all SF50s? One isn't good enough for them. They need four I think. SF50 for original appointment, SF50 for completion of one year probation, SF50 for CPC status, and SF50 for separation.

Yes, I wouldn’t have been referred if I had not. Under the qualifications for the announcement it states
  • Applicants, who are maintaining 52 consecutive weeks of ATC experience, after receipt of an air traffic certification or ATC facility rating, must be age 35 or below, on or before the closing date of the vacancy. Applicants previously appointed by the FAA or DOD as a civilian 2152, must also include a copy of a Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50) that verifies original appointment to the civilian 2152 occupational series prior to reaching the maximum entry age of 35. This would be the first Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50/new-hire action into the 2152 series) received. You must provide a copy of this SF-50 prior to the close date of this vacancy. If you were previously a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) or full performance rated (FPL) Controller, please also include an SF-50 that indicates this level of certification.

I got a TOL from this bid 2 days ago. I separate from active duty USAF in February of 2024. Anyone know what the chances are that they'll tell me to f*ck off and apply for the next prior exp bid? Or does anyone have experience with the opposite, where they allow me to keep the offer letter this far out? I've heard it go both ways, just wanted to see if anyone else has any recent experiences.

You should be fine, I applied to the September bid and am out in a few months. Once they get you done with the EODs and CIL you just wait for closer to separation to receive a list. Good luck
