2025 Federal Pay Raise

I love this NATCA rep BS answer/attitude that as long as there is some other job somewhere, anywhere, that makes less than us, we have no right to complain.

Like we haven’t seen almost every segment of the aviation industry get massive 30-50% raises. While working a fraction of the amount of days that we have been asked to.

We should be appropriately compensated for the responsibility we assume, a pilot assumes responsibility for a single planes worth of passengers. We assume responsibility for far more than that.

A longshoreman, line cook, barista, etc etc etc does not deal in prevention of mass casualty accidents.

“You can’t complain your house is on fire because there are homeless people in the world.”

“You can’t complain you lost all your limbs because other people are dead.”

^are the equivalent arguments to how top level union leadership thinks.

If fastfood workers got 1000% raises, you'd still have the handful here trying to "contextualize" the situation.

'Everybody in the agency gets hour breaks and sleeps 50% of the time, and I'm basing this solely on my solitary expert experience in 2 facilities. Work for peanuts, we're all scum!'

I simply responded to someone’s comment that wasn’t true. Get over it.

Yea we need a raise but your guys rationale as to why, won’t get you it in front of an arbitrator.

Try to come up with a good reason why you should make more than a commander of a nuclear powered submarine.

Sad reality is the only piece of leverage for better pay/conditions we have is the union effectively communicating to congress/public how important controllers actually are. They have done an absolute horrible job of communicating the realities of our job tasks. Most people think separating airplanes is automated by computers and we are a bunch of stressed out bozos with orange wands…great job NATCA.

Guess you weren’t a level 12 cpc for a full year yet
ZID CPC (12) starts at 143k. Nowhere near 175k without OT. Sunday is a 5% pay raise, which gets you to 150– but you aren’t making another 25k in night differentials.

Even if you’re counting working all 13 holidays, that’s an extra 104 hours of work pay which also equates to just under another 5%. Sunday and Holidays brings you to 157k.

Ok maybe like 1 or 2 lvl 12s don’t quite get to 175k. But you get damn close with night/sunday/holiday. Then you have the 12s that have a base lower band min above 180k

Houses out there are also stupid cheap compared to other high cost of living Zs.

On the other hand a level 4 (RUS) is only making $67,000 when they CPC. That's a pretty significant pay disparity on something that is largely out of our control. But generally do the same job

If we're asking for more than a commander of a nuclear sub makes, then the "good reason" is because neither of us are paid enough to begin with.

We are at least 2 years past the point where any ATCS/OS/OM/ATM needs to be talking about why XYZ won't work to get us a raise or having the audacity to say or suggest we are fairly compensated - especially in light of the wage increases (percentage based or other) seen everywhere from Bucees to Chipotle to Walmart - to Longshoremen to UPS drivers to FAs and Pilots.

STOP. LOOKING. FOR. REASONS. TO. HOLD. US. BACK.

Best of luck to Nick in getting us what we deserve.

Guess you're just fuckin stupid. Cause I didn't make that much for a year CPC even with OT.
Then you don’t work at a level 12.

149k-188k is the range of base pay for level 12 facilities. You must be a new cpc at one a the few below 160k. Thats the only way, or you are just mad and making shit up. Either way I don’t care
