What is the difference between 3 - Combination Radar Approach Control and Tower with Radar and 7 - Tower with Radar? Are both facility types considered up/down?

damn RSW SAV and MOB were out there and I didn’t get any of them, not cool. Starting to think I might just decline and try my luck at the next bid. Not leaving Miami for some place in the boonies

Do you have radar exp Dom? Im assuming that people with radar exp got the lists with 8's and tower only got the lists on stuckmic.

So I've seen a couple posts about using your Military Education Benefits or GI Bill while in training...how does that work? or can anyone point me in the right direction for more information on this? I dont mean while in the academy but actually at your facility

See that little search bar at the top of the screen...

Yes it can be used. Once you arrive at your facility either your manager (low level) or a office secretary if you have the personnel will accomplish all the paperwork for you. You have to fill out some enrollment forms and validate hours for the previous month on the first. They send in your hours every month and it usually pays out about a month behind. The first payment takes a little while but it is a fairly easy process. You get E-5 with dependent housing allowance. You can go to the VA website and put your facility zip code in to see what they will pay. The first 6 months pays 100% of the monthly rate, then it drops incrementally every 6 months (see below). You also get a “book stipend” payment. I certainly don’t mind another 1750 take home a month

Post-9/11 GI Bill recipients. The payment rates are as follows:

  • You will receive 100 percent of your applicable MHA during the first six months of training in these increments:
    • 80 percent of your applicable MHA during the second six months of training
    • 60 percent of your applicable MHA during the third six months of training
    • 40 percent of your applicable MHA during the fourth six months of training
    • 20 percent of your applicable MHA during the remainder of the training
  • Post-9/11 GI Bill recipients will also receive up to $83 per month for books and supplies.

Where did that come from? The most recent one up here (Mar 21) or another secret squirrel one? Just curious.

has anyone done the survey yet or the actual ranking of their lists? Im curious to know if its a thing where well be ranking all of them or giving them our top 3/5 /10 choices? or how does the ranking or the survey work? Im still trying to do my research on them so I have not touched the survey yet...if other people have the same lists then is it a thing where the quicker you get in your lists the better your chances or does each place have a few slots open? Is it very likely we'd get one of our top 3 choices so those should be what were really focused on or how does it work? any insight is greatly appreciated!!

I have done the survey already. It lists all 26 facilities in a drag and drop style and lets you put them in order as you like. I dont know the chances of getting any particular facility, but I would imagine that they try to put you in one of your top couple if they can. I have no personal experience of someone not getting a top 3 pick. However, to expect the best is to ensure disappointment, so always keep in mind that you're not guaranteed anything.

I put 1GPT 2 PRC 3 VGT. Really the only 3 I’d want to go to...the next 7 were whatever I had in the south east and then I left the rest after that alone.
