What did you lazy fucks do last week?

The problem is our union looked disjointed and weak through this. By Sunday they could have sent an email that states something along the lines of “Only reply to OPM’s email if instructed to by management while on duty time and then notify your facrep. Here is a template you can use if needed.” Then adding a message about we will take legal action to protect our members against any actions taken against them for their response or lack of response to the email.

Then you just let management side be the ones running around looking confused and disjointed. The problem is NATCA national have become an extension of FAA management. They are so worried about appeasing management rather than protecting their members. That’s what “collaboration” will do.
You had a prime opportunity to demonstrate our power. If they tried to fire even 500 controllers, the NAS slows to a crawl. Never mind the legality of it.
This right here.

Once again, another NEB fuck up.

It's truly incredible.

I hope their pulled pork is tasty.

AFGE also has 800,000 members or more versus the 20,000 NATCA has. I'm willing to bet they don't have any anti-strike anti-work stoppage laws forcing them to play a bit nicer either.

I do believe NATCA should have emailed everyone immediately saying we were not replying as a whole. This caused nothing but chaos and unhappiness amongst the BUE.
No federal employee can strike. We needed natca to force the FAA to email us that it’s ok if they reply after the deadline. Now anyone missing the deadline just has to hope they were telling the truth.

Another poster here called that nothing more than “mudflinging,” but it at least made us feel like AFGE was doing something to stand up for us.
I said that because I asked if anyone had heard any guidance from NATCA last night. You took it upon yourself to plaster that AFGE article as a response. Which again was not relevant to what I asked.

And I commended AFGE for what they did for y’all, I referred to it as mudflinging because it wasn’t just talking about AFGE standing up for you guys. It was however kinda random.

Even other federal Unions never directed employees not to comply. That’s not their place. However, maybe trying to apply some pressure to FAA & DOT management by pointing out how other agency heads provided guidance via email to NOT reply to OPM, would’ve been useful.
Did they have it in their contract that they're not obligated to check their govn't emails too? Lol

You guys are already behind the times. We are getting a second chance to reply according to Elon. Funnily enough, that email address is being bombarded by people that aren't federal employees.

I wasn’t trying to be an ass. I only included that as an example of what I thought a Union President at the national level should do. I included it simply because comparisons of DOD vs FAA ATC come up a lot in the comments at this site. Again, I meant no harm.

The reaction from the union and fellow co-workers to writing an email has been embarrassing. And we wonder why the public is cheering on all the federal job cuts. Union leaders and 114 reps are on social media acting like they are being oppressed and this is the worst thing that has ever happened to them. Over an email. Meanwhile, there's controllers out there coming off of their 6th day of 10 hr shifts who could give two shits if they have to send an email with 5 bullet points.

Another poster made a great point, why did we extend the contract to 'protect' ourselves? How exactly did we do that? It feels more and more likely that the sole reason to extend was to protect 114s from coming back to the boards.

People are bitching because they literally can’t comply with the request. You could just be on RDOs and not be able to comply. Without even getting into people on leave. And then there’s alleged guidance to relieve them but the FAA has failed to communicate it officially so the best you get is trust me bro

I’ve yet to meet a co corker that’s looked out for me. It’s all a sham. No one cares about you and your family.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk said federal employees will get a second chance to respond to an email asking for a recap of their last week’s accomplishments — or else face termination.

“Subject to the discretion of the President, they will be given another chance,” Musk wrote on X on Monday, referring to federal employees who did not respond to an initial email asking them to list 5 things they accomplished in the week prior by 11:59 p.m. Monday or face removal.

Double or nothing!

Bitching about that is different than acting like you are oppressed and being sent to federal court. Especially when employees were being forced to take a vaccine during covid against their will. The union didn't care much then. But sending an email... yeah that crossed the line!

Maybe that damn deadbeat dad should take care of his responsibilities!

The union hasn’t done shit about the email either. We still don’t have official guidance and they are all eating pulled pork together.

It's depressing that NATCA actually took this seriously. Trump and Duffy have been getting tons of blowback from the media and the left because they are accusing them of firing ATC. Trump/Duffy have been on record saying they haven't and no ATC will be fired. All 2152's are exempted from the hiring freeze and weren't able to resign. Once again NATCA had the perfect opportunity to grow a backbone and call their bluff. Per usual, NATCA released a statement about 6 hours late, and the statement was proven to be wrong.

No one can say for sure what will happen on the future. They are trying to pass massive tax cuts through reconciliation and they will do anything they need to make the numbers balance. It’s time to wake up.
