Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

I just saw this on the PSI testing website. It wasn't there last week. I can't believe we have to wait 3.5 more months just to take the test and then another month minimum to possibly continue.....

Exam: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Skills Assessment (ATSA)
Sponsor:Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Skills Assessment (ATSA)

Please Note: The testing window runs from 12/20/17 through 1/20/18. You may only test during this period.

You're making a giant assumption. It could be for this bid, or it could be for another bid... Perhaps another N90 bid or something else not yet announced.

The federal government runs at it's own pace and this is literally the easiest part of the hiring process. If you're so appalled, call HR and remove your application. Then you can begin the moving on process right now.

This goes for everyone, read all the old threads. The number one advice given EVERY SINGLE BID is to keep living your life. This is not a quick process. Most of you will not make it to CPC and will be eliminated somewhere along the way. Some of you will wait months to schedule appointments, others will wait months to hear results or get class dates. Don't put your life on hold.

Even though the years are wrong I think PSI posted the wrong years, possibly using last year's post. This announcement is NOT for N90 since the last test date per PSI website is 9/13/18. Also why would they post test dates for a bid not yet announced when the July 2018 bid has not tested? Your logic is flawed. Also I never said I was appalled. I'm just trying to share information like everyone else on this site.

Your logic makes sense to me. Though GBP did say it might be for "another" N90 bid so the fact that the current bid ends testing 9/13/18 isn't relevant for that.

I think it's more likely that they took last year's announcement and just re-posted the whole thing, rather than updating the day/month and keeping the years the same. IIRC those were the dates for the June 2017 allsource bid (remember they had the intermediate step of waiting for BA analysis/results before going to AT-SA testing). I'm guessing this bid tests November-December-ish. Not that I know anything, of course, I'm just waiting with everyone else.

The 2017 all source bid took the ATSA last October. We received TOLs in December.

How many do they plan to hire?

It was somewhere on this ATC sub where a guy/gal from FAA said the FAA was looking to hire 1400 people this fiscal year.

Last I heard, "Out of the 6,825 applications sent in, there were 6,377 that were 'system qualified' and of those 1,868 were 'HR qualified'".

Interesting to say the least. Let the wait continue.

The hiring goal is like 1431. They'll probably take more, to account for medical and background disqualifications. How much more? I don't know. If this 3168 is the final number, we can probably count on 500-1000 not even showing up for the test and another 300-500 not passing the atsa with a 70+.

The internal page that I get this from is a little confusing, but it looks like they might be behind their hiring goal, this fiscal year. So there's a possibility they may shoot for a higher number for the next fiscal year.

Just out of pure curiosity, when is the end of the FAAs fiscal year? The current company I work for is this month and we're doing all of our year end BS now haha

The fiscal years ends Sept 30. Hence why none of the people picked up in the prior experience bid can begin before Oct 1st.

I believe that the hiring goal of 1431 is a fiscal year goal... not just for this bid. If so, that number will include one or two prior experience bids as well.

My status on USAJOBS still says received and following the “additional application info” link it just says received as well. Anyone showing referred or anything different yet?

I've been seeing quite of few ppl who were disqualified post their status changed and most others still say received so my opinion is the ones who still say received or the ones moving on and all others were cut.

From my understanding, its only changing if you have been DQ'd. If it says recieved, then after you take the ATSA it will say Reffered or Not Reffered depending on how you scored.

Yep. They could and probably will include people who are still in the hiring pipeline from the 2016 OTS bid in this fiscal years hiring numbers, and they'll probably still take more than they need. Years later, there will be selectees left over from this 2018 bid, being counted in the 2021 hiring goals ,too.

This is how it was for the 2017 bid. It didn’t change till a month or so after the ATSA according to if you passed or not. Referred meant you passed but it didn’t mean a TOL would be given
