Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-18-ALLN90-54212

My buddy's (no vet bonus) account is the same as ours.

Can you verify these #s??
Historically, a good amount of applicants don’t pass the ATSA or do & don’t receive a TOL. Going off your #s, a safe guess is that at this point ~500 people got the update we got.

IMO everything is moving along as planned, we are an extremely small group of people considering the population within 50mi of Westbury. Even more so we are the obsessive few who would take the time to register & post to a forum dedicated to a job we are likely not to know the first (practical) thing about for at least another 8 mo. Is it a bad sign we are all receiving the same feedback?
Got them from a CPC whose manager was in contact with I'm assuming HR over there at N90. Idk how many took thebtest but only about 800 were eligible to based off of the 50 mile radius rule. I have vets preference (5 pts). What message was circulated and how? Emails? Usa jobs?

If you go into the bid on USAjobs and click additional details, it'll take you to aviator where a message shows up roughly saying that a referral list is been made and your application is under review. Multiple people on both sites have been saying that it means you've passed the atsa and are referred.

Hmmm, my status on Aviator only says "Thank you for applying. Your application has been received." in the box.
Did you click on “Received,” scroll down and then click on the “Additional Application Information” button? It sounds like you might have just clicked on “Received,” but didn’t do step 2...?

Maybe no update because I applied on the last day and they go through things in that order? I took the test on 9/6 but people who took it after have had a change. I hear the way the FAA does things are strange.

Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer to your question, I’m so sorry. You may want to ask MJ, GBP, Stinger, or breakaway2000 directly, since they seem to know the most about these things from experience. As a last resort, contact HR since they may be able to clarify better.

I don’t know where they plan on putting anyone else. They already have people parking on the lawn cause there aren’t enough parking spots with all these trainees.

Is there any way N90 can hault/delay incoming flow of trainees?

N90 - Extra info
you guys need to put ~300 more trainees through the system before you get anywhere close to hiring goal... When’s the last time you guys repaved the parking lot??

My application on USAJOBS got updated to "Referred" recently, and I checked the Hiring FAQ on here and see that "not everyone who passes the ATSA is selected/receives a TOL." Will I be notified if I was not selected, or is it a "wait and see" type thing? How long should I wait to find out?

It will be wait and see. Typically the bid does not "close" until there is about to be a new bid coming out. That way the FAA/ATO can continue to hire people from the same list without re-testing. If you are not selected, you will not get an official notification until the bid closes.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, the bid closed for N90 on June 26? You seem to know what you're talking about so my assumption is probably wrong. From what I have read, the FAA moves pretty slowly on these things... how much time could it take before the bid closes?

The bid closed for applications on June 26th. I suppose I didn't use the best terms. As long as a referral list is active they can still pull applicants from it. When the referral list closes they will send out notifications to everyone left that they have not been hired. This can take months, it all depends on how long they want to keep the referral list open. For example the OTS 2016 referral list was kept open nearly a year until about a week before the 2017 OTS bid was posted, then it officially closed and people were notified that they were not hired.

Well.. that sucks. Thank you for clarifying. I guess it's true what's been said: "Don't put your life on hold for the FAA."
