Security Clearance Information

So how far back do they send employer letters? Because I used to date my bosses daughter and we ended our relationship on not good terms so idk if he’s going to shit talk me if they send a questionare to him. I left that job in 2011. I had one job after that and then 6 years of military service.

Has anyone been in the middle of a background investigation of a security clearance for a different federal position and had to re-do the eQIP for the FAA before that investigation gets cleared? Do I have to disclose it even if it hasn't been completed yet?

My TS/SCI expired last year, I called Security POC and they said they only accept active clearances.
If it’s expired the investigation obviously hasn’t been done within the last 2 years. Not sure what you’re trying to say.

T2 positive ajudication

Had my interview today, the investigator noted my case was "T3". It seemed like a positive thing. That being said, I got 0 verbal or visual cues on how it went. Only took 2 hours.

He specifically mentioned "clearance interview" and told me this was for a "secret" clearance. I was initially mistaken, it wasn't a contractor but someone from NBIB.

Absolutely no jovial chat or anything. He wanted to get answers and gtfo out of there. Fine by me, he was going too fast at times and he seemed troubled by me asking questions but overall their weren't any curveballs or anything. I just don't know if i had satisfactory answers.

Edit: Looks like the T3 might be Enroute, T2 is Terminal? Just a wild guess.

The investigator has nothing to do with "how it went". The hiring agency is responsible for adjudication/issuance. The investigator is only collecting information to provide to the hiring agency.

The BI is virtually if not completely identical to a BI for a secret clearance. You will not get a secret clearance. T3 is the level of investigation, it is not a "clearance" level. T3 is used for secret clearances, but it doesn't necessitate issuance of a secret clearance.

T3 is the investigation required for positions designated as non-critical sensitive and/or requiring eligibility for "L" access or access to Confidential or Secret information.

MJ I am going to best you one of these days! :p

Thanks for explaining. Makes sense. You would think, however, that he's done enough of these that he might know if this looks like a dumpster fire or good chance of making it through adjudication? Or does he literally pass it on and never hear back?

Completes report, never sees it again. Outside of completely obvious disqualifiers, there's no way an investigator could know the criteria that hundreds of different agencies use for thousands of different positions.

So I'm confused. My security POC told me that my conditional clearance was granted on the 9th of this month. Then I got an email saying that my investigation process has been placed on hold status and then they requested some information about a school that I attended. Can someone make sense of this?

A conditional clearance isn't the end of the security. They still do the full investigation. Whether or not they can rescind a conditional clearance I do not know
