Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

I was young and dumb at the the time I did it. Can they expect all controllers to be saints their whole life?

I took the honest route and didn’t want to hide anything on the sf 86. Just looking for guidance here on writing the report - thanks for your input.
I learned from the military, honesty is not the best policy. Just explain it was an isolated incident and you've never touched the devils lettuce since

Does Tier 2 refer to just failing the MMPI or does it mean basically any medical stuff that needs further evaluation?

Also anyone have any idea how long future evaluations would take/what the process is?

Just signed my FOL can’t believe this is real still. Good luck to everyone still waiting!! Don’t be too anxious everything I worried about never came true haha. Also, let me know if anyone else gets a May13th Terminal date hope to see some of you down there ?
Did they offer you any dates before that?

Just wanted to say, I know a lot of you are like myself and hate to bug these POCs about clearances, but I've been able to clarify 2 things that would have been missed and would have added days if not weeks of waiting longer for records. Vets, you need to ask the VA for your military medical records AND your VA medical records (2 separate things).
Also, they need your military personnel file (Google MilConnect and sign up, you can download your personnel file there).

I know we all want to give these folks space and let them do their jobs, but their jobs are to get us from point A to point B. If you're not sure and don't speak up, it will just add more time and confusion to the process.

Oh, and F u guys with FOLs lol

Just thought I would let you guys know that I called HR today to see if any more TOLs would be sent out. The rep told me its still possible that ATO will be selecting more people.

I also asked her what my ATSA score was. She said that they are categorizing those who passed the test in three bands. Best qualified, well qualified, and qualified. She got my name and info and looked me up and told me that I am in the "well qualified" group.

I agree with this. No need to bother them too much but checking in every now and then doesn't hurt. I've sent two emails so far asking how things were going and if they needed anything else from me and both times I found out I was missing something.

I wonder what would explain guys like me who got their TOLs in February? Maybe the shutdown played a role.

Thanks for backing me up. I also wanted to add that if you vets need help getting these records, I am more than willing to help you. Just slide in my DMs

Is this only for active military? I was reserves the whole time and did not sign up as a military member.

Wonder what "best qualified" even means (as far as scores)
Well assuming the ATSA is scored on a 1-100% scale and if passing is 70%, one could probably conclude “qualified” is 70-79.9%, “well qualified” is 80-89.9% and “best qualified” is 90-100%. Just a guess, but that would make sense.

Also just for reference to anyone who is still awaiting a TOL and may consider re-applying in the future, the notion that re-taking the ATSA improves your odds is not necessarily true. I took the ATSA for the 2017 OTS bid, but was not selected. I reapplied for this bid, but opted to recycle my previous scores and did not re-test. TOL received 2 weeks ago.
