Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Yea I've seen that before, but I remember someone saying you have a certain number of extra days you can take off if you need to.

If you’re driving, you get the number of travel days as shown in each facilities page on this site, which does not include weekends or holidays. You also get 8 days (64 hours) of change of station leave, which many people choose to take some or all of right at the beginning to find a place to live. You’ll also have 3-4 vacation days accrued by the time you graduate the academy that you can use, and I’d imagine you wouldn’t have any trouble getting those approved if you wanted to take it all at the front end before even reporting.

I have CS and also haven't heard anything yet. I completed everything by Feb 26th. I'm in TX, southwest region. Just waiting on FS signature last I heard from medical early last week.

Did anybody else elect to skip Basics? I'm curious how that changes class placement/timing.

I wouldn't have skipped basics, it's basically an extra 5 or so weeks of per diem. the time you spend bonding with your classmates is crucial when you go across the street. You will meet up with them and then have to develop those relationships when you should be focusing on classwork

CG. I reached out this morning for a status update and was told the only thing they are waiting on is medical, which I anticipated.

Gotcha, I thought maybe they were sending this out to people with the same POC (I have LM).. Nice that you heard something back, I reached out on Monday via email and haven't heard anything from mine.
