Pool 2 - Qualified - Not Referred

Any rumors yet on the next open bid?
How are people moving from Pool 2 (2018 ) to Pool 1 (2019) assuming they're not gaining military experience or a CTI in the year between the two bids?
I finished my CTI between the two bids. Been applying since 2017 as pool 2 while I was in school

Also got well qualified and not referred. So what’s the next step if you weren’t referred?
I still have less than a year left on my military contract. I was told to apply just to see what it was like and to see for myself so next time I’ll be better prepared. I’m 26, so hopefully next time I test I get BQ and ride that train of letting my score rollover to the next bid if I don’t get a referral next time. I have prior experience as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) member in the Air Force but I can’t show for it on the test. lol-Current Job: Executive Flight Attendant.

Pool 2, best qualified, not referred. I called the number and spoke to some nice lady that explained that due to some legislation they can only take 10% of applicants from each pool, and there’s nothing they can do about the algorithm. She told me to keep applying and not to retest because my score was already high. So if you scored BQ, I’d do the same. She said there will be another announcement in either January or February so for all of us that didn’t get it this round, it’s only a few months away!

so based on the explanation from the lady, does it mean that people who got best qualified and referred this time around are about to get a TOL? Otherwise why would she tell Mandy that 10% of applicants can be selected after she was best qualified and not referred

I think it’s pretty safe to assume you’ll get a TOL if you got referred this bid. It may not be until around Christmas though.

It's not 10% but within 10% of each pool. So one pool is not going to have more or less han 10% of another who got referred. This effectively puts a hard cap on how many pool 2 applicants get picked up since there are significantly more of them.

She said nothing about a TOL specifically. I didn’t ask because I obviously won’t be getting one this round. I highly encourage anyone to call that number and ask as many questions as you want.
