Security Clearance Information

I phrased that poorly... Can they take away a conditional clearance and say you must now wait for the full clearance before proceeding?
I put my community college of the Air Force degree on my resume but I didn’t list it on the sf86 form because the college doesn’t exist in the way that a real college does and I never took classes there. They just wanted the dates that I attended and the address. I told my security POC that there are no dates because it’s not actually a college that you can attend.

Yes. The "conditional" is just a waiver to allow someone to be on-boarded before the full investigation/adjudication has completed. It can be revoked at any time.

My investigator said he called the CCAF headquarters in Alabama, I think, and Got actual dates from them. I accidentally put Jan 2012 instead of Jan 2013, I said it was estimated because I wasn’t at BMT until Nov 2012 and just put the month I graduated and got to tech school. And tech school is when I think they officially enroll you.

He made me go into eQIP and put it as “distance learning school” or something like that.

A couple questions. I have a pretty extensive work history in the past 10 years due to being in college and jumping around from job to job for various reasons. When asking for a supervisor's contact, many of my supervisors don't still work there anymore. Turnover in a college town, you know. It has the option on the sf86 to put "I don't know" for their e-mail but no option for the phone number. How should I approach that, especially if they don't still work there, or I don't have their cell phone numbers anymore? Also, for previous addresses, it asks for someone who knew you at each address, preferrably a neighbor or something. I pretty much don't know any of my neighbors for some places. Would roommate work? Or do they not want to hear from a room mate? I feel like I have a bit of missing info going on here.

I had a similar situation, I just put my supervisor’s name (even if they didn’t work there) with the business phone number, or corporate’s number. They don’t call them anyways they send them a letter. My 2 latest employers never got calls, just letters.

Was fired from a local government job due to a polygraph issue. Local government HR swears up and down that they do not release termination info to any one, even the Feds.

The advice here seems to be if they won’t find out then don’t volunteer it. I’m not sure I’m comfortable with not disclosing the termination. That said, when I do disclose it, how interested will they be in that polygraph? I saw another thread here indicating the FAA doesn’t care about them.

You should absolutely disclose it because when they do find out which they will, you will be in for a journey. The question is, why were you fired from a job you already started because of a polygraph? Wouldnt that be before you started?

Unique situation, and I wish that had been the case here.

I was there in a internship capacity prior to transitioning to full-time. Upon transitioning to full-time, they skipped the polygraph. Not sure if it was just forgotten about or intentionally skipped.

About a year later, I applied for a law enforcement position in a neighboring county. Took their polygraph, failed, and they sent my packet to my employer. Employer called me in and terminated me.

The E-Quip will definitively ask you why you were let go.

Just explain that on the equip and to the investigator when you have an interview. Hopefully you didnt fail because of something criminal/drug related

I've had two small charges (collectively under $300) get sent to collections - for one of them, I disputed it and it ended up getting dropped. Then I paid the other one shortly after it got sent to collections. No other financial or credit issues aside from this. Is this something to worry about?

Just report it. Should be fine unless you have a ton of delinquent debt.

Hello everyone, I just received my TOL on Friday and have a couple questions on whether or not I will get a clearance denied. I have no intention of hiding anything on my SF86

Here are the things I am concerned about:

1. I have three instances of isolated marijuana use in my life (one hit on each occasion, all on vacation), one in 2018 and two in 2019, the last being just over 6 months ago. I have no intention of using it again.
2. From 2015-2017 I had a few occasions of cc payments being late (60-90 days at the longest) as well as one instance of tuition debt being sent to collections in 2013. That was paid off by mid 2014, and my CCs are current. I am currently hovering around 3k in cc debt and 7500 left on my auto loan (nothing missed on the auto loan)
3. Over the past few years I have gained several foreign nationals as friends on social media, stemming from a couple of groups where we discussed a few common interests. I would say about 10 people, two from South America and the rest from Australia and Western Europe.

I have no arrests and have never been fired, nor do I have anything else that I think would raise alarm. How are my chances of moving forward?

I had the same issue and a termination. Just make some payments on the accounts to show that you are paying them off. I was cleared.

The marijuana in 2019 is a no-go i believe. I think you need minimum 2 years "sobriety".

Hey I’ve been in tier 2 limbo for awhile now and I’m about to graduate college. I found out that the security clearance is Secret T3 and my investigation is complete. Can we apply to other jobs that require the same security clearance level? Is that possible?

I was reading somewhere, I think a DOD handbook saying that if it falls under "experimental" usage it was ok as long as it was over 6 months. Their definition was anything less than 6 occurrences I believe which I would fall under.

It would suck to lose out on this job for something I didnt particularly care to do in the first place, but I suppose thats the cost of being dumb.

do you have a paper trail of the marijuana usage? If not, I heard from a guy who heard from a guy who overheard a phone call that said you don't need to disclose.....
