We’re being hired in FY 2020. 907 is from FY 2019Man, 907 seems super low!
If it wasn't already evident, I am definitely not ready for the new year! We’re being hired in FY 2020. 907 is from FY 2019
FY can be confusing, but they start in October of the year prior. So FY 2020 started October 1 2019.If it wasn't already evident, I am definitely not ready for the new year!
Thanks for the correction!

My husband stayed at Anatole a few years ago for RTF and really liked it. It's really close to the academy, and believe they have a shuttle if you don't want to drive everyday. I think I'll probably stay there as well, whenever the time comes. Sorry about the flight benefits, I hope something comes together for your wife. Best of luck to you at the academy!!What's everyone's plans for the academy? I got a class date way sooner than expected and have been scrambling to get my life together before I head off. I put in my two weeks notice for my current job working for an airline. Unfortunately, I am losing my flight benefits which my wife uses to commute to work once or twice a week (hoping a coworker will help me out there). My current lease expires in June so my family will be staying while I am at the academy because breaking the lease and moving is too expensive and not really feasible to do in the time we have. I plan on driving to the OKC which should only take about me 16 hours over two days (from what I understand they will reimburse you up to the price of the flight). I plan on staying at Anatole which seems fine to me since I'll have a car and be able to drive anywhere to study or pick up food. I already contacted them and made a reservation. I purchased the basics study guide on this website which I have been going through and hope to finish before I leave for the academy and hopefully, I'll be able to get started with the Enroute study guide as well.
My boss suggested that I could try to do this (or she would probably let me have my job back since she doesn't think they will replace me any time soon). She's great and I've kept her informed from day one, though.i have been wondering, has anyone considered taking a leave of absence from their current employer while at the academy since theres no guarantee of making it through? is this even allowed?
but is it allowed by the FAA though, like a leave of absense, that is what im wondering. Does anyone know for sure? Like they give you health benefits at the academy but how would that work if i already have health benefits? My boss suggested that I could try to do this (or she would probably let me have my job back since she doesn't think they will replace me any time soon). Seems like it would be worth asking about to me.
You can be double covered for health benefits. You may not be covered by you other employer during a leave if absence though. You insurance will want to know that someone else is also liable for your medical costs.but is it allowed by the FAA though, like a leave of absense, that is what im wondering. So, I'm in the same boat with this and have to get a "current status" of things I was on medication for.. have you made it past that part or not? I'm wondering what else is nextWhen I say my medical POC, I am referring to the person who e-mailed me requesting more info for a prior prescription I've taken and for info about a doctor visit. That person has been who I have been contacting. I'm not sure if everyone has a dedicated POC or not on the medical side.
So I worked for Disney World a couple times and didnt actually have a direct supervisor. It's a weird structure. They have an automated phone number that verifies employment, but I've tried to cal it and can't seem to get it to work. However, I just got a class date, so obviously the security people know how to handle these things. Traditionally, they send a letter to your direct supervisor AND HR. Of course, some people have supervisors that just throw the letter away and don't send it back, so I wouldn't be too worried about it. FedEx is so big that they should know how to handle it. Have you filled out the SF-86 yet?I've seen people on here getting letters sent to their employers about getting hired for the FAA... what's that about? I work at FedEx and I was talking to my boss about it letting him know they will be eventually sending something to him or HR. He's like well I'm not allowed to talk to them. They either have to speak with HR or some automated system letting them know the dates I've worked for FedEx. I'm guessing i'll have to give the FAA some kind of phone number/contact or even an address for FedEx and their HQ is in Memphis so that'll be interesting.

For a vacation, not likely to happen.Overall, things are moving pretty quick. People are getting class dates faster than usual. Still waiting for my CIL. EOD already submitted and approved.
I have a trip outside the county planned in March. Judging by how things are going, might get a class date before that. Which both excites and scares me. Whats the odds that HR can push back class dates for a couple months for personal reasons if ever I get a FOL soon.
