No, the "people who know you well" references.

My investigator told me before they were contacted. For me, it was important if they knew that me and my family were born outside of the United States and then became citizens later. And that I travel back for Christmas about once every 3 years. But other than that, they were asked if I would be easy to blackmail, if I should be trusted with a clearance, and then asked regular stuff about how and when we met, my years in University, where I currently work, and any drug or drinking habits.

All I have left is my Medical on Monday and my drug test on Wednesday and that will be everything! I’m just hoping my lower back injury where I used muscle relaxers for and got injections (that is now resolved) doesn’t put me in tier 2. I run and lift weights 5 times a week and I’m ready to work so please let me get started!!

You won't get Tier 2 for using muscle relaxers. The only way to get Tier 2 is if you don't score well (or if you score too "perfect") on the MMPI. If anything, you could get denied a medical clearance but that's just the worse case scenario.

Do you have any idea what causes someone to not get a medical clearance?

Their is medical tier 2 also. But it’s more asking for documentation and possibly information from a specialist.

Lots of things can. Documented drug and or alcohol dependency. High blood pressure, heart conditions, some sleep conditions can cause issues, various prohibited medications, previous diagnosis, inability to pass a psychological evaluation, etc.

The majority of medicines have down times so that once you get an initial medical clearance take those medications would only prohibit you from working for a specific number of days.

Do you think anti inflammatory injections in the lower back would cause a red flag? Personally I don’t think it would but I may just be hopeful lol

Got cleared for medical 2/11!
Submitted my eQIP 12/27, emailed my security POC on 1/22 and she said it's being reviewed, still nothing further there though. Does everyone have the interviews or is that only when the need to clear something up?

Not everyone has an interview. I submitted my eqip on 1/10 and had my interview on 1/27 and my references were contacted about a week after. I'm a dual citizen so I'm guessing that was the reason for my interview. I was told I'm cleared last week though. Now just waiting.

No everyone does not get interviewed

I failed my vision in one eye. How do I get in front of this.
Go to an eye doctor and get corrected to 20/20.... Email your medical POC I am sure there is a form they will have to fill out.

Passed everything in my medical exam except the vision. Kinda disappointed with how unprofessional it felt. The Doc took a phone call half way through and the machine I looked into did not fit my face at all. I feel like I was set up for failure tbh. But oh well, just gotta get lenses corrected to 20/20 and I should be good. Drug test on Wednesday and I will have everything completed!! Let’s get to work!!

Everything has been submitted and completed. Haven't heard anything from anyone. No reply from HR POC yet. Just waiting like a lot of folks.... i'd take a later class date though so I have time to sell my house.

For those of you that didn't pass the vision part of the medical exam, were you notified right away by the examiner or did you hear from your medical POC by email? If the latter, how soon after were you notified?

My examiner told me that i failed, then got an official email from FAA medical that's I failed and needed new prescriptions. But the thing is when I went to my optometrist to get a new prescription, she told me I had 20/20.. so I just got 20/15
My medical POC also never sent me a form to fill out and I had to go to the eye doctor 3 times bc they kept rejecting my prescription

Is it okay to do your drug test before your medical? Mine is scheduled for the same day but the drug test is like 2 hours before my doctors appointment. The email seems to imply it should be taken afterwards.
