It's called spool up time and it's in the contract.
What di the fail the over the shoulder. Will it negatively effect them. Will they have to do set? Who tf know.I suspect they will make it a re cert type thing where a sup sits with ya like a check ride again. Just like they do when you lose currency because of being out for baby leave or a trainee that forgets to check and doesn’t get enough hours on positions their certified on while training on others.
I will say it’s gonna be an interesting situation the union and agency will be in. I know my area can’t be the only one in the country that has trainees that literally got checked out a week or so before sent home. Some on their very first two positions. So after being out for 3 months already is it safe to throw that person back into the fire when they are literally as green as green comes in terms of being certified? That’s going to be an interesting scenario. Because even if they say ok we will just re cert them with a 60 min over the shoulder, how well can we expect that trainee to do. They haven’t worked in months and literally worked a handful of days by themselves.
Could ask the same about the CPCsWhat di the fail the over the shoulder. Will it negatively effect them. Will they have to do set? Who tf know.
I’m just trying to wrap my head around your theory. So a Dev that has operational certs and is “essential” and forced to work should be forced to be put through maps, and classroom, and sims, and OJT on all of the sectors they’re already certified on, because that’s the only option.

Yeah man and those sims are hard as shit, I would be scared. But at least they redesigned the grading for them so that it is pretty hard to fail now lol.So people that already passed sims and got operational certs should redo their sims and start all over? That’s stupid
Bro they gave some kid like -20 here on fugging pireps with the new gradingYeah man and those sims are hard as shit, I would be scared. But at least they redesigned the grading for them so that it is pretty hard to fail now lol.
Didn’t even fill those out. Just handed them to instructor and that sufficedBro they gave some kid like -20 here on fugging pireps with the new grading
Just like back at RTF ?Didn’t even fill those out. Just handed them to instructor and that sufficed
Our instructors in non radar were like we can’t take a 4 knot tailwind request other approach. Bruh!Just like back at RTF ?
Same damn weather conditions every time it seemed
That’s because Chicago center didn’t issue any weather at all and took a guy right into known heavy storms and he died.Bro they gave some kid like -20 here on fugging pireps with the new grading

This makes me #wetNo actual source for this, just rumors for now, but the word through the grapevine is August is looking most likely for training to restart. Take it for what it’s worth.
Yah I’ve also had a 737 and a bush plane asking to take a 15 kt tailwind cus it’s fasterI've been told this by both a DAL 737 and a bushplane...
I still think the most likely is faa/executive branch just says get back to work any day nowNo actual source for this, just rumors for now, but the word through the grapevine is August is looking most likely for training to restart. Take it for what it’s worth.

We don’t have that kind around here. My point is when you got some kid trying to run a 3 minute rule and degreees divergence and shit then your like I won’t take a 4 knot tailwind it’s a little obnoxiousNot a 737...you mean Southwest
If you have certs you should keep them. Period. Obv if you lose currency then bust out a quick over the shoulder. Anything that you haven’t been checked out on at this rate should be restarted and NATCA should be fighting that if you had a pass fail graded in a sim that it stands and you get to redo the sim training without the cert ride you already passed with documentation and then continue from thereLots of folks on here seem to make assumptions that I’m advocating for this. I’m not. I’m just saying that’s what I suspect the agency will do. Re-read every one of my posts. Not once have I SUGGESTED this. Only pointing out that it’s inevitable.
