If you pass a sim in a building it’s good for life. Just ask N90. If you go past the 120 days you may need class room / lab time which you should. That’s a lot of time to not work airplanes. If you were genuinely concerned ask your rep not internet trolls. Act like you’ve been here before and are professional it’s pathetic to see how weak the work force is and unconfident right now.

Because right now there is nothing. There is no airplanes and like everyone has said before they are not at a place to even warrant lab time. But... times are changing so be in the loop. States are opening even here in NY it’s opening so it will change. If anyone wanted anything done for training and everything else this is the time to be in the loop. It’s happening soon and it’ll happen fast.

My states in like stage 4. You can go anywhere and you can make out with the hostess before you get your table.
 
It blows my mind how all the ‘assumptions’ on what happens if you haven’t worked in so many days. Do you lose your cents, will you have to go back to class, are you decertified, etc.?
Go online and look up the 3120.4, it breaks it down on timeframes and what kind of training plan you’d need. From my recollection, if you are out more than 6 months you need to have a more in depth recertification plan.

I was told on another thread rule 1 for supes is to be in charge of as many people as possible, not less and never give that up. And now you’re telling me supes want to do as little as possible. Which one is it I’ll never know!!!

I dont need some asshole self righteous psuedo know it all Union rep to tell me that. They aren't going to force trainers OR trainees to work close like that. Especialyl cuz the agency is largely run by weak/washed out/scared traffic dodging lightweights who surely fear the virus irrationally much like dontcha knowww Gretchen Whitmer or Tom Wolf the king of beta males.

Per FAAO 3120.4 chapter 4. Of course refer to your local order for more specific requirements.

7. Recertification Procedures. Personnel who fail to meet currency requirements and those who are decertified on one or more operational position(s) must be recertified prior to resuming operational duties. To be recertified, the specialist must demonstrate, under direct supervision, the ability to satisfactorily perform operational duties during normal workload conditions. Recertification may be accomplished by individual position or a single action covering multiple positions at the discretion of the ATM or designee. If recertification is not achieved, the ATM or designee must take action in accordance with Agency guidelines.
a. Weather Observer Recertification. To recertify as a weather observer, personnel who have not taken an observation within 60 days must demonstrate proficiency to an FLM or their designee. Personnel who have not taken an observation within 90 days must retake the weather observer certification exam. Recertifications due to a performance deficiency must be entered on
FAA Form 3120-1, Section VI, Technical Appraisal. All other recertifications must be recorded on FAA Form 3120-1, Section III, Qualification Training.
b. Pilot Weather Briefer. Individuals certified as pilot weather briefers must comply with the proficiency check requirements established by the FAA and outlined in JO 7220.4, FAA Certification of Pilot Weather Briefing and En Route Flight Advisory Service.
c. Documentation. FAA Form 3120-25 or FAA Form 3120-26, FSS OJT Instruction/Evaluation Report, must be used to document recertification. Instructions for completing these forms are found in appendices B and C. Traffic Management Recertification(s) must be recorded on FAA Form 3120-32. Instructions for completing this form are found in appendix G. Recertification(s) must be recorded on FAA Form 3120-1, Section III. Recertification due to a performance deficiency must be entered on FAA Form 3120-1, Section VI, Technical Appraisal.
8. Recertification Hours. At the discretion of the TA, personnel who have worked an operational position within the last 120 days may be recertified and returned to operational duties without additional training. Prior to recertification evaluation, they may receive training including but not limited to instructor-led training, simulation training, and/or OJT.
