I wonder if the FAA will go to their “phase 3” where they close small towers and further cut hours. At least those people would get more paid time off, no way the FAA has the balls to lay anyone off.
 
No ones getting laid off. Trust me I’ve been wearing a mask since January.

I mean to be fair, there’s really no way to “socially distance” on an aircraft anyways. Even if the middle seat is unoccupied, you’re still just a foot and a half away from the other person. And everyone is breathing the same air and using the same lavatory. The air carriers are bleeding money, and blocking off a few seats was more about just making people feel safer. People that are still scared of COVID aren’t going to be flying at all anyways.

Good point. Not sure I agree all the way but middle seat or not I wouldn’t get on a commercial flight right now.

Pfft. Not gonna stop me. Word is Hawaii opens in August, but they won't let you in without COVID pre-testing AND symptom testing on arrival. Not to say it'll be foolproof, but better odds than normal domestic flights.

Let’s just be honest. 1 out of every 10 people advocating against restarting training are legitimately afraid of the coronavirus. The others just don’t want to lose the sweet reduced staffing schedule and realize trainees coming back puts an end to it. That’s what’s really happening here.

The face mask people are a special type of insane. I love when assholes say “even if you don’t believe in masks wear them for my piece of mind”. How about you never bring your dog out in public again, it might help the “piece of mind” for the 10% of people scared of dogs

Everything I’ve heard from my manager is that trainees will be assigned to crews and it will just integrate into the modified schedule. Idk about bigger places but we could get some training done on the current set up.

San Antonio did really well for COVID cases initally. Since “Reopening” about a month ago and going full retard it’s one of the worst cities in the country now. Houston and San Antonio hospitals are at capacity. Things aren’t going to be better anytime soon.
