Virtual On-boarding and Online Basics

No they haven't checked in with us yet during our self-study time, but we literally just had our first day on Friday so idk if that will change. I guess we technically are free during that time but I would be careful if you do go out and do something during that self-study time. They've mentioned quite a bit about how quickly we can get fired during this part of training
Understood. Thanks again for sharing about the process!

And no one does. The only way to get fired is to fail the course. Or have a dui or other criminal case. Or that one kid that stole the teachers notes.

Nope, knew someone personally who got fired literally because they annoyed everyone in their specialty, bad mouthed NATCA and management openly, didn’t do anything “wrong” just an annoying person, got fired the day before their probationary period ended.

I think this is more about getting fired at the Academy instead of at the first facility.

You can’t get fired for doing nothing. It’s literally impossible. He must have done something

What attire do you wear for virtual basics? Academy attire, or is just a plain black tee or something fine?

Polo shirt and boxers. /s

Everyone when basics first started were wearing polos or button downs, now it seems most just wear plain t shirts. No-one has really said anything.

Just onboarded on the 27th and waiting on a class date. For anyone OTS that’s been through the basics, how was it? Any recommended study material?
