I have a pretty nice gs11 job now. There is only one place I'd prefer to go.

Definitely well deserved I'm sure. It certainly allows for the points made in the debate about us level 7 CPCs moving up to 8-10s to come true. I'm sure myself as a 7 CPC is a much weaker candidate than this new hire

Its possible this new hire has lots of experience at a busy DOD radar, or contracting at a busy radar overseas, or is someone who was a CPC at N90 and quit. There are plenty of scenarios in which a direct placement could be a better candidate than someone already in the agency.

Edit- just playing devils advocate... Not saying I agree with it.

Ok. While what you say is possible, it is highly unlikely and been repeated time and time again. But you're a CPC who has benefited from the NCEPT process, so understand that while we are still waiting and watching new hires get pumped into facilities that we are trying to go to it's pretty infuriating.

In my opinion a new employee should not take precedence over an established one.

I agree, except in the case of a CPC reinstatement.

Holy shit! No way! Congrats dude! I owe you a beer when you get over this way.
It breaks my heart because it's where I want to go but I can't leave where I am for a couple years so...

MJ, so did you quit and this is a reinstatement or what?

I am pretty sure he went DOD when the word dropped that they would start taking CPC hires that could apply direct to a facility... Not positive, but seems that way.
Funny story, I quit the FAA and got hired again the same week. Efficiency :yay:. It was before the CPC reinstatement stuff came out. Still working that unfortunately.
