I'm not a Biden fan (or a Trump fan), but this isn't really any kinda "gotcha". He basically said people should vote for who they think is best.
Trump thinks people would and should vote for him even if he shoots somebody out in public.
Sorry, but these are all pearl clutching arguments. There have been rules out in place in the senate for a long, long time. Republicans have shredded those to put their Federalist judges on the bench, which has been in the works for decades. Yes, every move they made was constitutional. When the other guys do the same thing next year, don’t sit back and say “two wrongs don’t make a right” and expect democrats to abide by rules that republicans have flouted for the most of the last decade. The majority of the country thinks that no nomination should occur until the next president is determined. It won’t matter. Just like it won’t matter if Democrats add new justices.

and Ian Cheong is a right-wing troll who got a guy swatted and is of the same ilk as Andy “antifa concrete milkshakes” Ngo.
But a blue check said it! It can’t be disingenuous!

Gun control is literally one of the least controversial issues in politics these days. Like 70% of people favor more gun control lol.

You're right, and I'm part of that 70% because I want Universal Background Checks in the style Tom Coburn proposed almost a decade ago. I utterly oppose the radical ideas Biden wants to do, though, because they're nuts.

That's like saying "70% of the country supports immigration reform, so they clearly support Trump's Muslim ban."

Ah, I’m a Republican so every move we make is for the good of the country but Democrats are just whiners argument. I’d say imagine how you’d feel if the parties were flipped and the dems pulled the same stunt.

I’m sure that if the senate and White House go blue it’ll definitely be “accepting the consequences of the election” right? I’m sure there will be no massive uproar about “fake votes” to go with “fake news”

No, I'm a Libertarian-leaning who's forced to consider voting Republican this year because while Clinton's stated gun control ambitions were "moderate" by today's standards (universal background checks, an AWB with complete, no-condition grandfathering of owned guns, terrorist watch list bans), Biden's is off-the-rails insane (banning of any and all gun parts/ammo online, an AWB and 10+ magazine ban that only lets you keep them if you pay $200 for each gun or magazine, and a load of other things).

Instead of trying to coax moderates like me that would vote Democrat if they relaxed their position on guns, they're doubling down on being anti-gun with the most extreme anti-gun positions I've ever seen,. That makes me consider abandoning my decades-long 3rd party voting to vote for Trump, and I hate it, but what can I do at this point?

Where you trump supporters fall into the trap is you think a president is the king. Biden can’t do anything without congress. Any plan will be severely watered down before it is ever passed. Just like the ACA was extremely watered down and had tons of Republican amendments added

Biden is up 10 nationally. If his position on guns was such a big deal you’d hear about it more. I don’t agree with a outright AWB either I’m just pointing out that guns aren’t the issue they have been in the past.

“Ignore the stated desires of a politician and vote for them.”

We’ll see. As I’ve shown, Biden’s is the most radical anti-gun position a Democratic front-runner has ever had. Guns haven’t been an issue because anti-gunners have played the same tune for over a decade (reinstate the AWB with guaranteed grandfathering, universal background checks, etc). Biden has upended this with a radical new agenda, and it will either shift the discussion window to these new ideas, or force a retreat to the status quo when voters overwhelmingly reject how extreme they are.

And if the Republican Party would have passed any common sense gun legislature then we wouldn’t need to have such a radical position. People are fed up with masks shootings.

We need some common sense voting control laws as well. Throw in some more restrictive common sense border control laws. How about some common sense speech laws, social media is out of control!

I haven’t seen any masks shootings.

Both parties are at fault for nothing passing: Republicans for not proposing alternatives to the radical bills Dems propose, and Dems for insisting on a “our way or no way at all” approach that doesn’t include any pro-gun compromises or less-draconian approaches to the ideas they have.

Yah right. They don’t even enforce the laws that are on the books. If they banned hi-cap mags nationwide and AR15 weapons and another shooting happened y’all would be clamoring for more bullshit.
I love the whole gun running ring sting where our own government sold these weapons to drug cartels and then Americans were murdered with them. Thanks Uncle Sam, sure come take my guns.

I love how some people in this thread get “sick” of the gun conversation when gun control advocates are backed into the corner. It happened a few pages ago too.

Explain how you or anyone in this thread backed me into a corner? The only other person to say it has been more vocally pro gun than you.
