Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

They request two unique finger print sheets in case a portion of one is unusable. You'll need two unique sets.
My eQIP email says “also return a set of fingerprints ... to the security office”. That only sounds like one fingerprint sheet? I only had one done and sent in.

Don't know if this is the place to ask but does anybody know if there is any sort of signing bonus or moving stipend to help get to your new facility and find a place to live after you graduate the academy?

The FAA will only reimburse the lesser of mileage or air travel. They will only reimburse your trip from the MMAC so in regards to @Radik19 above if you travel from OKC back to your family, that trip is covered, your trip with your family to your first facility is not.

David - This is a friendly reminder that the pre-employment medical requirements listed in your CIL must be completed within 90 days of the date of the CIL. This suspense is stated in the CIL and CIL email. The appropriate POCs are listed in your CIL.

You will not receive another reminder. If you do not complete all of the pre-employment clearance requirements within 90 days of the date of the CIL, you will be removed from the hiring process and will be required to apply to a future announcement to be considered for this position again.

Please reply with the dates you completed the below requirements (or the dates for which they are scheduled) so we can update our database.
MEDICAL:

1. Physical exam

2. Drug test (not in the doctor’s office)

3. MMPI (at an FAA facility – POC listed in CIL)

If you are no longer interested in this position, please reply stating such and you will be removed from the hiring process.

Going to call them today to make sure all is well because I finished everything a month ago almost and got confirmation this week everything is cleared? Maybe I got some kind of automated email I shouldn't have.

I just got the same thing and I’m in the same boat, finished my stuff up about three weeks ago.

Ya I got it too. I called the lady, she said it's just to check up where in the process things are at, just respond to it with your dates. No need to call.

So I call the office about the email and they send send the dates they said they received my drug test but not my medical yet and my initial security was denied and they're doing a "full investigation", but the email I got a few days ago from 9 AGL said everything was good and cleared this is really starting to get muddy and confusing. Also, there should be zero reason why my security should be denied.

Maybe it's the other David Graham? You might have a twin on this exact bid who is a total soup sandwich. lol

I don't know if you remember my first problem with having another David Graham but she asked for my middle name to make sure she had the right one but it still doesn't make sense.

How does the FAA determine airfare?

Seems pretty subjective based on carriers, flight time, day of the week, etc etc.

Short story short, how do they determine where the break off point is for paying out your mileage for driving versus airfare.

It sounds like they could be mixing up all kinds of things between you, and this other evil one you speak of. Since different people handle different parts of the process between medical and security etc, they might all be mixing and matching your file and not be aware of it at all.

Oh jeez, this could turn into a nightmare. David, I sincerely hope you get this straightened out. I'm sure an email to your security POC will shed some light on what's going on

IIRC the standard reimbursement rate for POV travel is $0.56 / mile. They do not pay extra for tolls, food expenses, or lodging while in transit. I believe they determine the airfare payout by calculating an average of the flights from your home to OKC. They will then pay you the cheaper of the two, which is usually the airfare cost, even if you drive. You are also entitled to 1 day of housing per diem prior to the start of class so you can get settled in OKC.
