Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Do people want to go Cleveland center? I’d love it there but I don’t know about the rest of the world. Basically asking how desired is it?

Odds are not in your favor for ZOB. It’s not coming up on the placement list anytime soon and the spots that do come up will most likely go to transfers.

How long could one expect to stay AG at ZHU and ZSE?
I can only speak to ZHU but once here you can expect anywhere from 6-10 months until you get to the lab, then training on the floor somewhere around 3 months till your first two D-sides when you will get to D1.

Both my parents worked there and loved it they are very understaffed I know people there that have to work mandatory overtime frequently. Oberlin is a nice city and isn’t expensive so you don’t have to worry about cost of living or traffic as much as other places like Oakland. And it’s still a level 12 facility so the pay is nice.

According to the PPT. They are one of the best staffed Zs.
I'm Cleveland native, that would be my dream spot. Buddy of mine works in Oberlin and confirmed what controllerfreak said about them being understaffed. I didn't get my TOL though, to this point.
If you know nothing about the area, Cleveland has undergone a pretty huge renaissance and is a fun place to live, best part is the market hasn't changed and housing is still some of the cheapest in the country on average.

Cleveland sucks, don't ever go there.

Just tried calling my medical POC (because I havent gotten a response in weeks regarding a serious matter), and her mailbox is full...got transferred to an assistant and it just rang non stop.

I still don't understand how many (if not most) are able to get contact info for their medical POC at all. It's been a month since my MMPI and medical, and I've reached out to the generic email twice, and called the generic number once, and haven't received a single response. Literally nothing.

I reached out to me background POC via email and phone to make sure they received my fingerprints and never got a response. 2 months later I messaged my HR POC and they didn't get back to me until a week later and only said they are "waiting on clearances." Time to just relax and let the process happen.

I realize it's a long process but after hearing that some people's files got lost/misplaced somehow I can't help feeling paranoid that the same happened to mine ?

It's starting to sound like they lost my drug test. I've had the worst time with EMSI, seems like they can't get anything right.

My medical poc is great

Did you reach out to the generic email to get in touch with your specific POC?

Either I’m doing something wrong, or my Med POC is just completely ignoring me...

In the same boat as you. Haven't heard anything after sending 2 emails to the generic email address. Finished medical on 3/5.

I’m not encouraging this, but i reached out to my hr POC about medical not responding. She told me to wait 7-10 days from initial contact and then let her know if I still hadn’t heard anything.

I did so and heard back pretty quick from medical giving me a version of an update. Obviously I’m not trying to piss anybody off but it eventually worked out.

It may be important to note that the Saturday before all these emails went down I received an email from medical asking for other forms to be filled out.

Yes I emailed the generic medical email and then my POC emailed me back.

I’m in the prior experience bid, but I called the number the medical email had at the bottom and left a voicemail with my name, email, and phone number on a Thursday and they got back to me the next Tuesday. Hope it helps.
