Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

I’m in a similar situation. Got my start date earlier today for May 3rd, Enroute. I replied right away, even called and left a voicemail with no response. I can’t start because my wife is pregnant and due that first week in May. Fingers crossed that we hear something back tomorrow.

The first class they offered me was way too soon. My POC didn’t get back to me for a couple days when I requested a later date. I guess they have to forward the request up the chain and wait to hear back. But they were very accommodating, so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Awesome. Did you reply to that email from HR and state that the start date was not acceptable or send a separate email requesting a new date?

got a response from HR about my start date not working, said they were forwarding it to air traffic organization to see if they can allow it.

I've sent emails to my HR POC, the generic medical, and my background POC for updates. The only response I got was from the background investigator saying she was still reviewing. Have a sinking feeling I might be tier 2 with the lack of response.

Does anyone know if its still possible to get a TOL if you took the exam in October of 2018? Still shows up as referred on my profile.

Wouldn’t say anything is impossible when dealing with this hiring process. But I also wouldn’t hold your breath waiting on a TOL this late in the game. I’d start preparing for the next one and take it as an unexpected surprise if they squeak a few more out from this bid

I think it’s possible all the way up to them opening another bid. People still drop out or don’t accept their offer.

It’s possible until your status changes to not referred or they open up a new bid because they tapped out of the qualified candidates from the 2018 bid.

It's always possible, but seems unlikely at this point. I caved and called HR to find out how qualified I was. Turned out I was in the "best qualified" group. It makes you wonder how close you are, and sucks to be in this spot.

Almost 3 weeks since my MMPI, and 2 since medical, but haven’t received any updates. I sent a second email to the generic medical address today asking if there are any updates but no response. Starting to get nervous the lack of communications means I’m in line to be Tier 2’d...

Thanks, i actually have a friend that is currently in the FAA and she was telling me that she knew people that got theirs after 6-7 months. Pretty much said the same thing, if they open up another bid she suggested to just retest. Does anyone know it maybe has anything to do with being referred for pool 2?

No news is good news. It took a month and a week for my medical to be cleared with a clear medical background.

If I hadn’t been reaching out they never would have updated me along the way. Took about 6 weeks after having everything on the CIL done before I got the FOL. I wouldn’t sweat it after two weeks

Yup you never know what could happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t think it has to do with pool 2 though, lots of people in pool 2 got TOLs. Seams to be a pretty even mix

True, thanks guys. Think I’m just getting antsy too because my current job is so freaking horrible at the moment lol.
I'm in the same boat, I haven't anything from anyone and I've emailed a couple people. I'd rather have an extra month of silence than to hear today that I got a tier 2.

Lol heeeeeard that! I put my notice in at my job less than 20 minutes after getting a class date
Haha I cannot WAIT to put in my notice :D my current job, I’m on salary, and they regularly have me working 60+ hour weeks, and weeks at a time without a day off, most nights and all weekends, all without a DIME of OT pay. And the saddest part is, day 1 at the FAA academy with salary + per diem, I’ll be making more than I do at this current gig.

Can't wait either. I'll be making double?
