Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Anyone know when you see the list of possible facilities your class can get? begining of the class, half way through, the very end. Yes I have a class date, I want to know because I work with my wife currently and need to let our work know if there is any possiblity to us staying in this area or not as soon as possible.

like a week before evals

So you see a list of possibilities a week before evals, take evals and then decide? seems like an incredibly short timeline to get all your ducks in a row to move.

I mean, things start to take shape before that but you never know how many people in the classes ahead of you will pass/fail so you won't know the exact slots until the last class finishes like gulfbravopapa said. At least thats my understanding.

So for those who were tier 2’d due to your MMPI-2 , do you think it was because you answered too perfectly??? Just curious to hear some thoughts on this
I thought that would have been my issue, but upon doing my eval a few weeks ago it turned out there were some personality areas that came up as "concern". Basically the eval is just for them to clarify on some things, ask you about your life to see if there are any red flags and then you'll retake the mmpi (by hand) and then a second personality test.

still currently in it.. notified tier 2 Feb 2018,, took Tier 2 eval Oct 2018,, notified i passed and did drug test refresh April 4 2019,, its a wild ride
Damn, you're still waiting on a class date ? I was hoping it would be the same two weeks as the other guy that refreshed his drug test in March.

You don’t know what your class rank will be until the end, so it’s impossible to know where you are going until then.

You get a couple travel days and 8 business days of leave to use if you need to afterwards as well.

When we got our list, I priced out a few apartments for every location, then made the calls to get everything in order the day we picked.

Interesting. So if you take it by hand and don’t pass it again based off what they are looking for you are pretty much canned from the job?

Yeah I know the class ranking thing, I just want to know if the one location that is possible for us to stay in this area is on the list or not. If it’s not we can tell our job there is 100% chance of us moving, that’s all.

I'm not sure to be honest. I imagine they take into account the psych eval feedback and go from there. I haven't personally seen of anyone saying they were tier 2 and also got dq'd from the position based off of their eval, but then again who would come on here to say that? I did my eval on April 5th and the psychiatrist, who asked me for a reference during the eval, finally called said reference on Monday. They also told me they would have their feedback sent back to the FAA within 3 weeks (by the 26th) and imagine I'll be waiting another few months to hear anything from that.

Reference referring to what exactly?

What facility if you don’t mind me asking?

Good info. Did your psychiatrist give any info of thinking to you thinking you’ll be ok and good to go for the job?

ZSE I’m aware that it is highly unlikely to get but at least we can justify to our guard leadership that there is zero chance of staying here and they need to start curtailing her agr orders.
We had 2 ZSE slots on our list, so it’s not impossible, but not likely.

I’d still tell them to expect you to leave. If not, they’ll get a phone call in 4 months saying otherwise lol. There’s just no way to predict it this far out.

They even gave us a “projected” list at the end of basics that was absolutely nothing like our actual list. Yet another one of many wonderful hurry up and wait situations of this process.

What I did was wait to find out if I was assigned enroute or terminal. Living in the Houston area, if I was assigned enroute and busted my ass, I knew there was a CHANCE I could end up at ZHU. However, when I received a class date for terminal, my house was on the market the next day. It seems to me that the tower facilities in major cities(such as Houston, in my case) are mostly higher levels that would not be assigned to an academy grad. An old person might say I’m wrong in my thinking here, but that was my takeaway on the whole thing

Yeah I’ve already got an enroute class date so if zse isn’t possible then we’re out of here. I’m not really upset about that really I’m not even from here, I just want to give my squadron some heads up.

I put your odds to a) have ZSE on your list, b) not have it drop off due to failures and c) have you finish high enough to get it at exactly 4.556%.
