Got my FOL. Starting at South Bend (number 1 on my list) in mid Oct. Let know if anyone has any questions about my experience through the hiring process.

Super excited about starting with the FAA and the 13-14 month hiring process to finally be complete.

Congrats, when did you get your list of facilities to choose from? I have been cleared on everything since June, nobody knows shit and still no list of facilities to choose from.

Got my list Aug 11 and sent my order preference back on 13th. Was sent my facility on the 18th of Aug. Received my FOL on the 23rd.

I don't know... I know a lot of shit. I can tell you there are still 300+ prior experience new hires waiting to be given a facility assignment from the Sep. 2016 bid (as well as a number of holdovers from the 2015 prior experience bid). I can tell you that HR will send out lists in the order you were fully cleared. On average, each batch has ~100 people. For your sake, I hope you're included in the next batch, but taking ~9 months to fully clear, there's no guarantees. I know the hiring process is brutal, but you have to find ways to relax and keep living your life. You can drive yourself crazy if you're relentlessly checking your email each day. I will update this site prior to the next batch going out.

I couldn't help but to laugh when I was told to submit my experience over a month and a half ago and that I had 48 hours to respond. Hindsight being 2020, had I known then what I know now, I would have likely fell to the floor laughing so Hysterically I would have laughed myself into hyperventilation.

Still haven't heard a word, HR, didn't have much to say either....

So I was emailed today asking to rank in order of preference: zlc, zdv, zoa and zla. Any thoughts?

I was told they are working in the next batch and I should hear something within the next week.

Stay away from ZLA and ZOA, LA Center is in the high desert dump, its in the middle of nowhere, and all the scorges of the earth live there. OAKLAND, Center prides itself in washouts and the Bay Area is arguably one of the most expensive places you would want to live.

I'm going to assume you were a prior center CPC? Either way, ZDV and ZLC have an 85% check out rate, compared to 75% for ZLA and 55% for ZOA.
I wouldn't wish ZOA on my worst enemy.
If I was ranking, it's a two person race between ZDV and ZLC. It just comes down to personal preference, do you want the higher cost of living in the cooler city (ZDV) or the cheap cost of living and live like a king/queen in ZLC. If I was single or newly married, ZDV all the way. Married with kids? ZLC.

That would be a good assumption. What is really making this hard is I don't want either places in California, so it's hard to rank them accordingly. Thank you for the input.

If you want to look deeper...
ZDV - 7 people below the national average
ZLA - 6 " "
ZLC - 5 " "
ZOA - 0 " "

I'd be shocked if you weren't given ZDV or ZLC. If for some reason they assigned you ZLA or ZOA, you can PM me for the next steps in fighting it. As a prior CPC, you have A LOT of leverage.

Another prior experience batch will be dropping soon (possibly today). They were updating it today. It's small, had around 10 facilities reserved for 9/6. All 6 and under. I'll update tomorrow with the full list.

When do FoL's get sent out? I am suppose to start Oct 1st and am trying to find a home but I can't without some sort of proof of employment/income. I am moving my family from WA to FL and don't want to wait until the last minute.

HR is instructed to send your FOL 30 days prior to your start date at the latest. As you're sitting on 30 days now, make sure to check your Spam folders. I'd also give your HR contact a call before they leave today telling them you're 30 days out and have not received your FOL yet. Make sure to do it today because it's a holiday weekend.

@Anthony Perez
I know a guy in a similar situation and start date. HR says they're swamped and if you don't receive your TOL today, expect it no later then Wednesday.
Definitely still call them.
